Buying online..Reside in Canada...U.S. or UK which is better
Just wondering.....I am looking to buy equipment online....got a general price for the equipment i have choosen...but i live in canada...dont know of any Canadian Sites that i can perchase equipment from...
So i am forced to go outside Canadian borders to shop....but exchange rates pretty much sux for canada.....is like 1.5x the amount if i go through the states + Duty Fees + GST....
Now to go through the UK its about 2x more expensive but i do not know if their are any duty fees...or if they will add GST for that matter.....
Would just like to know what most of you canadian people out their do....where do you buy from the States or UK....i do not have a huge budget....trying to give myself some leway....just wondering whats cheaper to go for....say for instence your spending $3500.....
Thanx
If you buy from the USA you might want to see if there is a place within driving range across the border where you can get your stuff shipped, then you go get it and pay the duty etc at the border. Sometimes it is faster and cheaper to go that way, and easier for the seller too. In my area there is a small place just inside the USA that charges $3 per package - all you do is use their ship-to address and monitor the shipment by UPS or FedEx or contact the place to see if your shipment has arrived.
You might need to get the USA ship-to address noted by your credit card company if you pay that way, that is done all the time and takes only a phone call to the CC co. The seller may want confirmation from the CC co that the ship-to address is OK.
I haven't got much stuff this way, but my friend has. The Cdn border will charge you PST (lucky you - 0 Alberta), GST, & duty. Some items have no duty, like Sennheiser headphones (made in Ireland), but the duty can be checked in advance, you can get the rates at the border or probably at the tax site http://www.ccra-adrc.gc.ca/
I will recommend www.axemusic.com
Thanxs man....i totally forgot about axe music...went to their site...it has everything im looking to get....except the cartridges.
no prices so i email the dude...to get a price quote on the products i want....
Thanx again dude
