Morocco 0 - Senegal 1
Senegal snatched a 1-0 home win over World Cup qualifying group C leaders Morocco on Saturday, denying the visitors a point which would have put them into next year's finals.
The result means the battle for the group's qualification spot goes to the final set of matches in two weeks' time, when Senegal and Egypt could both finish level on points with Morocco meaning goal difference will decide the group.
Both sides attacked from the start, but Senegal got the break they needed in the 17th minute. A long ball upfield from defender Ferdinand Coly found striker El Hadji Ousseynou Diouf, who netted to bring his tournament tally to seven goals.
Morocco fought back and prevented Senegal extending their lead despite several scoring chances.
But the visitors failed to equalise despite a couple of late attempts on goal which were deftly kept out by Senegalese keeper Tony Dasilva.
``We have done what we needed to do -- now we must go to Namibia to win qualification,'' said Senegal's French coach Bruno Metsu.
The result left Senegal on 12 points, equal with Egypt but trailing on goal difference after the Egyptians hammered Namibia 8-2 away on Friday.
Morocco, who have played all their matches, lead the group with 15 points, but with an inferior goal difference to both Egypt and Senegal.
Egypt play away in a fortnight's time to Algeria, while Senegal travel to bottom-placed Namibia.

Bt maybe it's better to make a thread for "World Cup Qualifications". Then you dont get so much threads and its more clear more everybody. So you think it's ok to change the title of this thread to "WC Qualifications" and that everybody post his newz about it here?

I think it would suck if wc 2002 would go without brazil..

Ok guys Morocco is finally not going to WC 2002 , i'm really Sad . Senegal is going instead of us , it's gonna be the first time they play in a world cup , congratulations to them
Hollanda Should Go and be in the same group as Mexico! we have some matters to resolve from that 2-2 from the last world cup. I bet that game hurted all dutchs, hehe (Mexico scored those two goals in the 44 and 48 minuts or something like that, in the second period)
A friend of mine told me Ecuador is in, for the first time ever, dunno if it true.
Mexico has to win all the rest of the games to qualify.

The African charts are old
Cameroun , Tunisia , South Africa & Senegal are already qualified , While if Nigeria draws or looses against Ghana , then Liberia is going. I just want to clarify something bLuE_nEoN , George Weah played from 93 to 96 in PSG and then he moved to AC Milan (he didn't start there in 96)

I'm breaking down into tears, although im a Germany supporter (their time is over, they must rebuild now, but u never know!!!).....but I love the Dutch team. many great players!!!
I just saw the standings up there again....Holland is not in such bad shape.....hope they make it!!!
World Cup ....has to be the best single sport event in the world !!!!!!! So Germany is going in???? YES YES YES!!! =) Im a Die Hard German National Team fan.... but i hope they use more of there newer players cuz they kept there older players for there cup last 2 times....... i was pissed..... but i remember when they won it in 1990 in Italy it was so amazing!!!!!....but teams i think that should be in it cuz with out them it would suck i think

I hated the Dutch Team in the 1990s..... cuz that one guy on the team Frank Rijaard played so damn dirty in the quarterfinals in the 1990 world cup agaist germany i think it was ...but it was sad!!... Spitting on Rudi V�ller head i thought that was so fucked up ...and Rudi gets a Red Card cuz of it and cant play anymore.... that made me hate the Dutch team lol but its over 10 years past and i dont think that would happen again .... so i dont hate them anymore
Ok we finally know the 5 African teams going . Unfortunately Liberia won't go to WC . Here are the 5 nominnees and a little a analysis from me :
-Cameroon : can give an awful presentation (remember in 1994 Russia won them 6-1) or can suprise you
-South Africa : they will probably do nothing , their team is weaker than the 1998 team that played in France
-Tunisia : the only north-African representant , most of the player 28/29/30 (old players) , not a very good team
-Nigeria : don't expect from them a great result , this Nigeria is not the Nigeria you've seen in 1994 and 1998
-Senegal : the biggest surprise in the next WC , they play like Nigeria in 1994 (they are motivated , courageous , etc ...)
Well as you all know Morocco didn't qualify but according to a lof football analysis , my country has and produces the best defenders in all Africa

Im just glad Germany still has a shot, and I doubt they will play much older players, not many are left really....Germany's team is pretty fresh now

I believe argentina is going to win they've lately played bad ass football, anybody saw under 21 scary.
Portugal is playing nice too
France with Zinadine(at present he has softest touch I've seen in years)
Hopefully a couple african teams will advance since they always surprise and are very enjoyable to watch.
