cheap yet decent cd scratcher? help me out.
quick question. my little cousin is looking to get 2 cd players. he does not really know what he is doing but wants ones that you can scratch on. he does not have a lot of money to spend. right now he is loooking at the GEMINI CD1800X TABLE TOP CD PLAYER W/SCRATCHING and the AMERICAN AUDIO PSX TABLE TOP CD PLAYER W/EFFECTS. i think that for the 299 he is dropping on each of these he should get a pioneer 300 but he is dead set on getting ones that you can scratch on (he plays a lot of parties and he is into hip hop). which do you think he should get and are there any other options. he wants to spend a max of 299 per player. let me know asap b/c he want to buy them asap. thanks in advance.

oh please, talk the scratch idea out of his head. If he wants to scratch, convince him to buy a turntable. The scratch effects on cheaper machines are never that good as a real scratch from a vinyl. If you get into the more quality machines like the CDJ1000, you get a good scratch effect, but still, I prefer the good old vinyl.
Why does he insist on CD's? If he intends on dld'ing mp3's, forget it. Out loud the mp3's sound like shit.
he plays parties for kids his age and the kids his age in the area listen to rap/pop music. i dont think a pair of turntables would be feasible for him. but at the same time i want him to get cd players that can last him if he actually gets into other types of music...like trance for example
. i just need to know what cd players you would buy if you hadd a max of 300 to spend on each one. thanks again.

Learn him to listen to trance music
no, lets get back on toppic.
The american audio PSX.
I prefer this one. I've felt is before, I've felt the scratch effects, and well, they're not bad... Also the accuracy is better than the gemini's (0.02% dissortion, and 0.05% on the gemini).
The gemini doesn't have an instant start allthough they say it does. I went looking it up, it has a dissortion of 1.5 milisecond. The PSX has an instant start. The sound quality is also better. The effects on the PSX are really nice.
anyway, get the PSX.
thanks man
