PC Speakers...

- I've finally decided, and have a chance to invest on a good set of PC speakers. Im not looking for anything above $250 though.

So basically, I know most of you have some great PC speakers, and are more familiar, and amature on these things.

Ive been lurking and searching, and I found this.

Logitech Z680 5.1 Computer Speakers (5-Speaker, Silver)

Features:
Six-speaker system that lets you enjoy true 5.1 digital sound with your movies and games with built-in Dolby Digital and DTS hardware decoding
Create 5.1 surround sound from stereo music, movies, and games with Dolby Pro Logic II
Simultaneously connect four audio sources, including PCs, game consoles and DVD or CD players
Be in total command with the Digital SoundTouch Control Center and wireless remote
Feel earth-shaking bass with 500 watts RMS of thunderous power

Its on sale, priced at 270. It originally costs $400.

I know this is some relatively big amount of money IM investing here hehe.. so, just wanted to know if anyone here has had good experience with this set, or if anyone has it.. or if theres anything BETTER for BETTER price then this.
Thanks guys.. really want to listen to my trance with decent speakers.

great speakers. i have them, very powerful. i never get a chance to turn it to more than 1/3 power. even at that i can hear it from outside, the kitchen shakes, and the sub will definitely blow you away. i got my for 220 with free shipping at dell. its also great for gaming, movies, scaring people away or annoying them, and others.

Yeah, save up for a Klipsch 5.1 system. You WON'T be disappointed. I've got a pair and I'm so happy with them, my friends have got Creative 5.1 and Logitech 5.1 sets and they don't compare to my Klipsch.

Also, Klipsch has great customer support so if you have any problems you can be re-assured that they will help. I had a problem with a transistor in my amp and they told me to send it back for repair. So I just sent my woofer and they sent me back an entirely new system! So I've got 2 sets now!

Gotta get the longest warranty. Not because its a shit system that busts up all the time. But because if one small thing goes wrong. They'll replace that part.. or like Tek said.. your entire system..

I've had mine for 2 months and no problems at all..

Yeah, I think Klipsch has a 3 year warranty when you register your speakers.

I got Altec Lansing with 400W on sale for around $140. Don't even believe I've had it up half way or more except when I was dead drunk. I mean when you hit 100W you normally turn them down a tad unless you're drunk anyhow. It has a Woofer larger than a tower CPU and four heavy satellites. Klipsch speakers are overpriced and overrated. I mean I could buy two of these for the same money and have a total of 800W with 8 heavy satellites to burst my eardrums. I find 400W to be sufficient to drive the wife, kids, dog, mice and roaches out of the house as it is.

Oh don't get me wrong. Altec Lansing has some really decent systems. I had their 4.1 for a while.. But I had the money and wanted Klipsch..
I think it was worth every penny.. I watch movies, listen to music, and do high end gaming on my computer(s) so I wanted the best possible... I'm the kind of guy that likes all the bells and whistles. I turn up all the settings on video and audio and like to look. But when I'm actually doing some intense gaming UT2k3 I turn the vid down a bit so I can do some CTF..
Or Battlefield 1942

- Sup guys. Thanks for all the tips, comments and advices. I went out this saturday to best buy, and tried the Logitech and Klipsh that were there to try out. There some bose speakers as well. At first, I heard both Logitechs and Klipsh, and surprising enough, I found that they didnt sound as clear as I thought they would sound, maybe it was the way they were set up.. I dont know. When I went to try the Altec ones, they really stood up by the sound. I dont know.. they were only 2 speakers though with the subwoofer, but sounded better. I still want though a whole 5 piece system.. so for what Ive read I might go some place else and try the Klipsh once again.. I hope Circuit city or CompUSA have the same options as to best buy to hear this speakers.

Order the Altec Lansing 400W system online - I have the Altec Lansing 641 system. I've never seen them for sale, but then again I live in Cowtown, USA. The woofer has two 6.5" speakers and is huge, and four satellites and weighs over 75 pounds shipping, so believe me, these are some substantial watt producers. They have a five star rating. They won't dissapoint you. Don't waste money on Klipsh!!
CHECK OUT THE SPECS!!
I pulled up a search engine on the Internet and found them at $156, so I reckon I got a good deal at $140 to include shipping.
