Is this a subgenre?
emma shapplin - spente le stelle
Veracocha - Carte Blanche
Lightforce - Join Me
DutchForce - Deadline
i was wondering if this was just considered "Just trance" or if there was a subgenre to accomodate these songs. These songs tend to have their own characteristics in both the sound of the synth and the continuous rise of the synth. if anyone can also recommend songs similar to these, please list them.
thanks!
it's just trance
barthezz - on the move

its "not just trance", every song has to fit into a subgenre. personally i group epic and uplifting trance together. all of these songs are either "epic" or "uplifting". that subgenre is the best in my opinion. always gets you up and wanna dance.
I'd call them epic trance... uplifting trance is a bit softer... very melody-focused... I could be wrong though...
Lightforce-Join me, is a sweet track, the remix on slinky live in moscow sucks tho.
i think this genre stuff is crap
its just trance. not "just trance" but its TRANCE.
i mean who the FUCK said what melodic, uplifting, and epic trance were?
the one w/ the most credibility is epic. just cuz its like.. *duh* big-sounding, classic kinda stuff.
and ANTHEMIC. that's kinda obvious. but its not a genre. more like a disrespect.
melodic literally means theres just a F***ing melody, so lets all shut the F*** up about it. same w/ uplifting, it just means in most cases that the song is in a major key, or has those big synths.
im really sick and tired of all this genre crap, its making up your own name and shit like that.
i the whole it is just trance, i just listen to it, i dont worry what subgenre it is. Bathez-on the move is a top track
i agree w/ all this stupid genre shit.. fuck its trance... w/o a doubt.. its not house/hiphop/rock/dnb/ect.. its trance.. peace!! -layla
The only trance sub-genres I use are Progressive, Epic (uplifting) and maybe Dream. And still: it's just an indication, nothing more, nothing less.
yeah prog is definitely a genre
but its not trance.
its the divider between trance and house, i think most people will agree that the three main forms (with a standard 4/4 beat, no jungle) are house, trance and prog..
everything else deriving from those basically
