Carola & Vigorito tonight

So, anyone going to the Roxy Blu? I've spent the whole week in anticipation of these bad boys especially after hearing about Carola's amazing performance in Aria, but I've seen even less enthusiasm about them than Richie Hawtin last week!

Come on guys... who's in? Where are all the techno addicts?

Yargh. This event isn't doing the thing that techno events are supposed to do: get me ridiculously excited.

I have heard Carola twice before, and each time he has failed to do anything for me. I've wondered why - he plays the same tracks I like and buy, he is technically brilliant - so what's up with that?

It's because he plays tooooo sloooooow. As you've probably noticed, I like my techno fast. I play it fast and part of the reason Barbara is my fave is that she's the only one who consistently plays the music I like at 145+bpm.

So in light of this awakening, I don't think I'll be paying $20 or $25 to hear Greg Gow and Danilo. I love love love Danilo's studio work but finally hearing him DJ is not worth the bling to me.

Aaron, you going?

Yeah, Carola was totally un-impressive last time he was here too, I was there at System with you, remember? But this time he's not playing to the system crowd, and Montreal loved him!
