Mixmeister Vs. AtomixMP3

I just Dl Mixmeister.... WHAT! Very complicated, I currently use AtomixMP3 (Virtual DJ), simple to use & easy 2 pick up, im lookin at mixing live really, so is it worth my time learning to use mixmeister or shud i stick with the limited atomix?

If you're going to mix live your looking at the wrong programs.

Traktor seems to do the trick although i heard people mention Virtual Turntables (or VTT - i think.)

Noone for me...

Best programs are:
Traktor: easy to mix...the program bpm match both tracks...
PCdjRed: the best, most professional, not so easy at all...well..i said "professional" hehe...

Mixmeister isn't meant for live mixing at all, but the later versions of it are quite good for "studio mixing". It won't simulate turntables by any means but it is simple to use and fairly powerful when it comes to creating seamless mixes.

Ok. Atomixmp3 is for the "new-born deejays" and basically amature deejaying. It has this function that auto-beat match. In turntable-mixing, Theres no such thing and never will, you must set the BPM equally to beatmatch.

well, you can never really get that live dj mixing atmosphere unless you have 2 soundcards. That way, you can have one channel going to the headphones, one to your speakers. I would have to say that the best programs are Virtual Turntables and MixVibes. Others usually have bpm counters or something similar. ALways try to stick with the standard or semi-pro versions of software because the more "professional" you get, the easier it is to mix because of the arrival of bpm counters. I've been using mix vibes standard ever since i ungraded to XP due compatability issues with VTT and it works great. AtomixMP3 is amateur, anyone can do it.

atomxis pure dogshit mate, it speeds up tracks by cutting bits out of it, and it doesnt even match the beats properly and generally sounds shit. but at least you can learn how mixing works that way.

use keyboard shortcuts for everything and you can match the beats as well as in any other program

the best thing is the cueing wav thing.

go to the options, in the question mark. at the left there is a 'time stretch' option, disable it.

REAL TABLES!, oh wait this is for cheap asses :P

Posted by Endlesswave on Nov-09-2003 23:50:

Get Traktor but do NOT, I repeat do NOT use the auto bpm function as it sucks ASS and when you end up getting real turntables are you going to be using one anyway? (I say NO because you have to learn to beatmatch with your own ears...best experience imo.)

I think that Atomixmp3 is really good, but most people just assume it sucks because of so many auto features. If you actually disable all the auto crap its actually a pretty good program. It's simple and effective. Most of the flaws and they're are a bit of them have to do with the auto features. Just use it like real turntables.

i was using atomixmp3 2 for quite some time...it was ok if u dont do all the "auto" stuff...i could have some good mixes (not as good of course as mixing live) and with my own "touch" to the mix...well i guess there r 2 categories on these kind of programas 1)making good mixes for example when u want to have a mixed cd to listen to some tracks u have selected , wich actually can be done by any program of this kind and 2)mix on ur own , u will definately need a second soundcard to use headphones...

Good points by all, but I'm not interested in learning to beatmatch manually, this is only for personal enjoyment. I want2 b able2 mix my own CD's & do mixes for my m8s, i'm not making a career out of this.

Atomix is good cos it auto beatmatches, although this often fucks up leaving me in the shit . I don't really have the patience to learn to use a more pro program.
