Playstation 2 fixing

Ok, so about a year ago, my ps2 started acting up, giving me the dreaded 'disk read error' any time I wanted to play a game, watch a movie, etc, so I took it apart to attempt to figure out what the problem was. Anyways, my attempts were fruitless, and now techtv has done a segment on the repair of this. I have my ps2 open as we speak, trying to find the 'sweet spot' with the little white gear. I am also noticing that the drive is wobbling while it spins! Perhaps this is my problem? Have any of you encountered this, and is there a way to fix it? ANY help would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

The best way to fix a PS2 is to buy an x-box and revel in its glory

bleh. I'm not getting a ps2 until ps3 comes out, so the ps2 devalues to $40 and the games are like $10.

they already are like 2 bucks...oh you mean if you buy them

Go out and purchase one of those CD lens cleaner kits. My friend had one so I borrowed it and ran it a few times...after that my PS2 has worked fine.

I had the same problem with disc read errors and movies/games skipping if I did manage to get them to read correctly.

Also, did you get your PS2 when they first came out? If you got it at EB, Babbage's or Gamestop you should be able to take it back and they'll swap it for a new one.

Won't be long until buddy boy Gates announces that Microsoft has stopped production of the X-Box. The system is failing, time to face reality.

Trust me, I know. Surprisingly the Gamecube was the #1 selling system in the states here for awhile after they announced the price drop to $100.

considering I have every game for it and ive paid a grand total of around 150 dollars for the games, Im not too worried about getting my money's worth. A lot of fantastic games. Plus I have a modded PS2 also and most of the games for that too. Nintendo pisses me off, their stuff is hard to hack
