idea: clubbing nights info thread?

i knwo my listeings thread wernt so successful but that had to be updated too often and this thread should be better for those "anyone know any good nights in x town/city" threads

also promoters could find thius useful as their promotional threads usually drop off the first page easily.

how about i create a thread and make it sticky, then have people post listings of good trance nights in the uk so we can have kinda a database going, have it sorta like:

Night Name
Club Name, City Name

Main Genre:
Other Genres:
Prices:
Capacity: (could bee an aprrox number or just "big" or "small" etc.)
Residents:
When on: (eg every friday, sum1 think of a better word or could be a list of a few dates if the night isnt on very often eg pause - 23/10, 13/11 etc...)

and even maybe stick in a small locator map image underneath

anything else to stick on maybe?

what i will do is leave the sticky open and let people add to it, then update the first post and have everything sorted into which are in the same city for ease of browsing?

i reckon it will be good for people new to trance or have jsut moved house or even people from other countries, also you could stretch to other genres close to trance like techno, prog, breaks, or hardhouse coz a lot of peopel who like trance also like them.

in the other thread i reopened it and posted saying how many people read this, post here. and after about 2 weeks nobody poasted

maybe in this one it could have a forthcoming lineup(s) below the main info and i could update it there? and people post in that thread everytime there are new lineups to add? that could work i reckon...

From RSVP bar, oppo Kingdom, stand outside RSVP and follow it round to the right, down the road and head towards Casbah, the road curls and Charles St is on the left, you can't miss it.

From peace gardens look on to the main road where the buses pass, you will see Toni and Guys, and Panasonic centre, turn left and follow it down towards the moore, you will see HSBC on the right, Charles St is right next to it.

aha good man, but for firstions i was thinking just have the wee map, ill make the thread two secs...

2) Wouldnt it be easier to have links to mappoint for maps? Save on loading time for some and it means they can move around the location with the arrows to get a better sense of where it is ..

ye h thats what i meant, but sometimes the map of a place from eg map point or multi map can be confusing rather than a home made one

and yeh there wud be no point doing one offs coz theyre usually big and/or will never happen again for a long while. if sumthing is a one off like gkgg or nec or summat like that just post a thread.

the thread is more for people to just check a place near the mor summat to see what nights happen rather then everyone posting shitloads of threads asking about em
