Its the sequel to the Hobbit. I rented it on video. Its an old-school cartoon, intended for kids I suppose. Nevertheless, it was still awesome. At the end, the wizard guy said to the Hobbit that the ring that he had, had many more powers than just turning him invisible when he put it on. 5 years after the cliffhanger, they make the movie of the sequel

Thumbs up

Yah, i can't wait for this one!
I read the books when i was 10 or 11 years old, so i'm re-reading them now It's the work from a genious, no doubt about that.
It's also funny which director they chose for the movie. Peter Jackson, the director, made Braindead or Dead Alive for u americans, and it's one of the funniest movies ever! Sick, but funny. It's definitely one of the top 3 bloodiest movies ever if not number one. It's the humor that saved it from not getting banned everywhere..

Me too. Want to read the books, but don't come often in the library.
To kanos: That is so true. The book is always better then the movie. You have a own image of the story and the movie is always different of your own image.

Rasta

Yeah, can't wait, and it was made over here in New Zealand, so check out the scenery, and Peter jackson has made some prety weird twisted bloody movies, so it should be kewl, a visual feast, i'm sure it will not dissapoint.

The Lord of the Rings is the name of the entire trilogy. The first book is The Fellowship of the Ring, followed by The Two Towers, and finally The Return of the King. The movies are following this same pattern. The Fellowship of the Ring will be released this December. Oh, and if anyone is interested, I have the audio version of the books as MP3s .

No, The Hobbit will not be part of this movie series. The movie series will actually take place 5 to 10 years after the Hobbit would've happened (if I remember correctly, could be more or less years). The Hobbit was about Bilbo Baggins, and the Lord of the Rings trilogy is about his nephew, Frodo Baggins. Basically, in a nut shell, the entire trilogy is all about the ring that Bilbo scammed from Gollum, which he then leaves to Frodo in the beginning of the Fellowship of the Ring.
