El Quixote
Cafeteria has great food but the service leaves way too much to be desired.

Owned by the same people and in a similar style is Frank, just north of 5th on 2nd (next to the diner diagonally across the corner from Leopard Lounge, oddly enough).
takahachi for sushi
sea for thai
hmm... those are about the only 2 places i go.
Olive Tree/Comedy Cellar - Olive Tree is upstairs/Comedy Cellar is down stairs.
The food there is very basic, they do burgers and kebabs, and pasta I believe - Although they serve the occassional stuff, its very very good.
The only downfall is if you have to go to the bathroom you need to go downstairs through the comedy club, and usually the comics pick on you when you go to the bathroom. If your watching the show its actually quite funny to watch the comedians rag on the people having to go to the bathroom.
mcdonalds.
restaurants around the village area that i like: gotham bar and grill (they have a great lunch deal), balthazar, and blue ribbon (not the sushi place). the blue ribbon one is great b/c you can get a meal until 4 am and the best time to go there is for late dinners anyway. i love that place.

Spice (not really in the village) corner of university & 10th they serve great decently priced Thai food. Melissa took me there for the first time about a yaer ago and I was suprised to hear a Global Underground Cd playing in the restaurant.
Best sushi on the East Coast, and possibly the entire country: Tomoe Sushi on Thompson and Houston. Not really the Village, but close enough. They only take Amex and cash. No reservations or parties larger than five. Expect to stand in line outside for about an hour. WELL worth the wait.
