Skiing / Snowboarding This Winter Season?

ok, there must be people here who hit the slopes regularly, so would anyone be interested in hitting them together? I'm not thinking like a huge tota one time trip, but rather getting together with people who go regularly, like at least once every 2 weeks... last year i only went like 4-5 times cuz most of my friends aren't really into it, but this year i'm gonna go more often, be it alone or with others, so

Would anyone be up for this?

There are plenty of skiing/snowboarding locations just north of Toronto.
I guess noone is up for TA invasion Blue Mountain lol.

I went with 4 buddies last winter to try Snowboarding... it was hilarious and a shitload of fun..

It's retarded at first but once you get a hang of it then the speed is intense...

Fun increases exponentially as you try not to collide into your buddies who are trying to do the same.

see im used to looking out my window and SEEING the mountains im going to go skiing on.
I have a feeling that they are 'ski hills' around here.
Would it be worth it for me to bring my board boots and brain bucket back out after x-mas?

What are the conditions like? 100% man made? 2 feet of pow pow? How long are the runs? How much does it cost?
I cant wait to hit the slopes when I get home.wooooooo!

Just seeing this thread brought back flashbacks of the good old days when I'd go down the hill on rusty skis when the slopes would be icy as hell. Ah the many falls I took, and the many times I got up kept going only to wind up tangled in a fence/wrapped around a tree/in a big cloud of slow or ice/looking as if i won't slow down enough to not hit the lodge...aaah, so many memories *wipes tear*

Sure, if I've got the money this winter, then I'm in

Hmm that's a good point...Well Blue Mountain is by far the best out of the areas close by here and then there Mount St. Louis which is not bad at all actually as well. You can check them all out online they all have websites. During winter they all usually have good snow but if not a lot of it is man made. Last year was a BAD snow season so was almost no snow till after new years...very disapointing. I think the blue mountain site is www.bluemountain.ca Check it out

Posted by mute79 on Nov-10-2003 19:14:

yeah, blue mtn and mt st. louis are about both about 1hr drive away, and are decent...

i've been skiing since i was 7, i kinda wanna go for something different now so i'll try out snowboarding... everyone that has tried it said it was way better than skiing...

does anyone know if the season has started yet? i thought i heard on the news that it snowed in barrie last week

Posted by matty on Nov-10-2003 19:16:

mmmmm skiing...i used to ski/snowboard like twice a week....after 2 knee surgeries i'm a little nervous....maybe i'll have to go out this year and see what happens

Posted by infinity HiGH on Nov-10-2003 19:28:

Snowboarding is a fuckin blast. I love it. I didn't get a chance to go last year because none of my friends wanted to go

Posted by Matt on Nov-10-2003 21:06:

hmmm... blue mountain is right outside my window

Posted by E2EK1EL on Nov-10-2003 21:28:

I haven't gone snowboarding for almost 10 yrs. My crew and I were hardcore, went up north and went into a valley ... start to chops trees down and build some nice hand rails and jumps.

It's fun, but as a pro sport ... a real man skateboards!

I'll come if I don't have much shit to do over the holidays

if you never did either, I would suggest trying snowboarding.. it's much easier to learn and you can start having fun right away..

I learned to ski when I was 7 and was skiing regularly until I decided to give snowboarding a try at 16.. and since I went skiing only a few times, sold my ski equipment and I loooooooooove boarding..
But I'm not sure about going.. cause I hate Blue Mountains (mountains? what mountains?), though I might.. after my exams and after my trip

Posted by Endlesswave on Dec-04-2003 04:56:

I cannot ski for shit! Boarding? I'm willing to give it a shot...although I can see myself falling TONS of times on my ass, should still be fun...

Posted by Rocco on Dec-04-2003 06:26:

i'm up for snowboarding givin i have enough funds.
actually friends of mine are gonna go rent a cabin and go somewhere.. can't remember the details.

i'm gonna find out the details
