Dunno VST drum machines?

Do you guys have any recommendations for a good VST drum machine for Fruity Loops Studio? Or any other tips for creating a nice beat? I just don't understand why it's so difficult for me to create a good sharp kick drum in FL...

I second that. I haven't been able to find any good VST drum machines either... and I suck at making drum patterns

do you mean drum synth or drum sampler?

drum synth:
waldorf attack
linplug RMIV

drum sampler:
linplug RMIV
native instruments battery

i prefer RMIV..

Seems to me there are two questions here:
1) Good drum-based VSTi's
2) Producing sharp kicks

On the first point, in addition to thecYrus's suggestions, check out DR-008 and LM4 MkII if you want a drum sampler.

On the second point, there's been some very good threads on this. Do a search

I've been using the RM3 still. I downloaded the RMIV demo but it wouldn't let me change the channel configuration from 6 mono + 1 stereo to the 10 stereo I usually use. Anyone else have this problem? Just seems to crash when I try it...

yes, i've only one stereo channel too but i doesn't need more than one and haven't tried to use more.. i'll look, perhaps i find a way to change it.
