tattoos: questions inside...
i personally don't have one and don't see the point of it, but for an interesting topic...
1. do you have a tattoo?
2. what is it?
3. where is it?
4. why did you get it?
pics or STFU (had to get that one out of the way
)
Have 3. One on each arm, and one on my back. Got them because they remind me of things and display things that are important to me. Have a pic of one of them, will try and get one of my newest one.
This is the one on my back, it's a mantra from Buddhism but doesn't really have a direct english translation.
1) Yes
2) An Anch
3) The inside of my foot/ankle
4) I was bored at my mates, said on a whim 'i'm goign to get a tatoo', he said 'off you go then' so i went, they wouldn't do what in wanted so i got this instead.
I'll get a pic hosted this eve
I have a little butterfly on my back. I got it at 18 cause i really wanted one.
No pics
hey misty whats an anch?
are you talking about that egyptian symbol of life (ankh)?
I currently do not have one, but i plan on getting one. I think if they are planned out carefully and done by a good artist they are very sexy and it appeals to my sense of aesthetics. But of course the tattoo's must be unique in their own way, and not to copy other people. Copying other people's tattoos is just tacky, and it lessens the appeal of both the original and the copy.
I need to get one in a discreet spot though, as i want to be a teacher. And for some reason if you have a tattoo your a bad influence on kids.
i think i'll get one to mark my graduation.

Im thinking about it.
but I dont know if Ill want it in 40 years
so anything I do get will have to be more meaning full than a panter or something like that
thanks to a convo w/ a friend last night, my initials in Scottish Gaelic on the inside of my bicep with the family tartan to fill them in
*wonders if she should even get started in this thread
*
Yes I have two. One on in the middle of my shoulderblades on my upper back and one on my right hip. The one on my upper back is my nickname "OZMA" with two stars, and it signifies an extreemly important time and hardship in my life. (all black)
The second is a half moon with three stars and stardust and the word "POLSKA" in the half moon, signifying my culture and heritage. The half moon is outlined in a purple colour, the stars are blue and purple mixed into each other and the stardust is black and blue. The lettering is black.
Don't have any pics yet....
Hmm, oh yea btw, I already started a thread like this not too long back...

@ sothis: impressive.
I don't have any tattoos and probably never will. I feel most tattoo's lack an aesthetic appeal and are in rather bad taste. A symbol symbolizing something, imagine that. The body art style is much more interesting to me (like Sothis' tattoos).
Course, what do I know
#4 should be obvious
. cause im obsessed with becoming a cyborg.
the first one i got (left leg) actually has a bit more of a meaning, but now, has spread to a general "i have wanted to be a cyborg since i was little, so if i cant do it physically, ill do it superficially" thing.
anyways, the left leg i got when i was a senior in high school (18). i essentially felt like my life was stagnant, dreary, and, well, mechanical. i got up, went to school, came home, went to work, returned home, studied, went to bed. repeat. repeat. repeat. i felt very unhappy with the monotony, and in general, i felt like a machine. so i expressed that. (+ the whole "i want to be a cyborg thing" had a factor in it as well).
