winter blues

well im not sure if this is common any where else in the world... but here in canada its been proven that a good more ppl suffer from depression due to the winter... most likely cause of the lack of sun light... ppl spending too much time in doors cause its so cold and not getting out as much...

and in the midst of all this i notice that i have been spending too much time in doors as wel since winter started... and i meen alot more... i only have to go to skool 6 hours a week... and ive noticed except maybe the odd walk to the coffee shop... the majority of that time is spent here at home by myself

ppl always say ya well you can make your self go out... but i dont know... theres just this feeling inside that makes me feel like i cant for some reason...

SAD seasonal affective disorder

you can wake up at 6:30 and read by a sodium light

or you can have more will and get out. either will make you feel better. Today I was yawning all the way to the gym, during my workout, and on the way home. Then I changed and was all jazzed and here I am at 11:00 with work tomorrow and im gonna be up late. Seriously. Make. Yourself. Go. Out.

I love the winter! The cold is fantastic to me. Wearing sweaters and coats! Plus, the coffee just tastes so much better because you're sooo cold. Lighting up the fireplace!

*Love* winter!!

i totaly agree. i love walking outside and getting that nice little sting and breathing in that cold crisp air.
i love walking around in down the street in the bitter cold with your nice warm jacket and ski hat on. hands in the pocket.
i love the snow.
and sitting by the fireplace hellllll yeah

ahhh i miss the winter living in los angeles.

i can't wait to go home for thanksgiving and go sit outside in the hot tub drinking champaign while it snows.

im in the same boat as you ratz.. i live in southern alberta so our weather is realitivly the same. I hate the cold because -40 C hurts, it isn't fun and seasonal. But i also have RIDICULOUSLY bad circulation which means that my limbs feel like a heat cooler no matter what i try to do about it, unless i take a hot bath to bring my core temperature up. winter here is just too long!

Sometimes a hot cup of French Roast Almerato is just what a person needs to get him through the day. That smooth aroma and mild taste is what makes Tweek Coffee so very special. Special, like an Arizona sunrise or a Juniper wet with dew. A lite rain in the middle of a dusty afternoon or a hug from your dear old aunt...

hahaha

Wouldn't you prefer tho to walk outside in the morning even during the winter to sunny, warm weather? I know I would but not everyone can have this luxury.

Winter months do have their advantages such as skiing but the disadvantages seem to stick out to me more: colds, bad driving conditions, shoveling snow, etc.

I don't mind it being cold - it's the lack of daylight that gets me down sometimes. A bit of snow makes winter worthwhile though...hope there is some this year!

damn...all you ppl who live in canada...you have my sympathies. i live in london...and that's cold enough for me. it snows every so often, but not too often...altho is pees rain 365 days of the year. as for winter blues...i've got em. i've got non-sunny day blues...any day with no sunshine...and i already start my day feeling less happy than i would if there was sun. if i had to live somewhere that was seriously cold...i would die. or i would learn to hibernate and just sleep through winter.

No, I love walking outside in the morning to freezing weather. It is exhilerating to me! Makes me love life a little; I can't explain it.

That sounds horrible....

Canada sounds great except for the climate. Actually I've been in the summer and it's beautiful (Alberta).

For me, I really enjoy fall and the cool temps. Winter just sucks.

Posted by wienerschnitzel on Nov-11-2003 23:15:

dave, where in alberta did you visit?

Posted by whiskers on Nov-11-2003 23:33:

mmm, it snowed today for the second time here in MA... last winter we got i 6 feet of snow in total.... crazy

Posted by .montecarlo. on Nov-11-2003 23:35:

i don't mind the cold... it's the constant rain that gets me. try going to a tanning place once a week and exercise regularly, it helps.

dood just get out. and if your friends dont want to, go by yourself - like for a walk through the park, just to meditate. you'll feel better doing so trust me, i'm an expert at this bs that used to plague me for some time in 1999.
