Thanks for your comments, but that guess is completely off the mark...

I used Reason 2.5.

hahahahahaha... it's swedish

ok.. too the track

i still think the bass sounds too slow. it need's more speed

percussions sounds pretty nice

at like 0.55 or something where the snareroll is, i think it need more power.. if you are going to have the snareroll there.
maybe add an extra bass too it or something.

the melodie sounds good.

the string sounds alot better now when it isn't that freaking light.. hehe
you could try too add a extra string too it that is more powerfull

the lead need's a bit more power... kinda hard to hear the high's on it.

otherwise it sounds really nice like i told you..
it doesn't suck.. hahaha

Hehe... Far too generous!!

Thanks for the continued comments, mate. I'm remembering all this stuff - i'll try not to let it happen next time!

Pretty cool track here, like the lead.

I suggest, that you EQ the kick more and the base maybe.

This is amazing for a first track, especially if you made it in reason..because reason ain't that easy to use.(my opinion)

Incredible! For a first production this is really great - you're got some good ideas, really nice melodies.. A lot of potential here!

Comparing it to my first productions, it makes them look shite!

I'll let you know tomorrow. It's bed time now.

Thanks mate. This is really encouraging to hear. I'm feeling more confident about starting some else now.

Very good for a first production, got all the right elements there, and the overall sound is neat & clean.
My only 2 gripes are that the bassdrum is a tad too loud and its a bit repetative, but I cant really fault it for a first track

Look forward to hearing more of your future tracks

Cheers Bren!

I did have some problems balancing out the levels, but I think it helps to have and objective ear listen in. Will try and sort it out.

Very promising stuff for a first track, I must say!

Could use a bit more perc/synth elements but compared to my first productions this is lightyears ahead.

Posted by Martin McG on Nov-16-2003 22:41:

well mate this is very good for your 1st attempt

the percussion so far is quite good, needs thickened up a bit maybe add a few more things to it but nice in general

the melody aint too bad, with some work it could be rather good IMO

i do like the synth youve used for the melody

the structure could be better but that will come with experience

overall great 1st attempt

keep up the good work

this is looking pretty good for your first track
although like other people said, that bassdrum needs a bit more variation =)
looks like you have the right idea with all the elements you throw in there. amazing for your first production. fuckin amazing for the first one.
the kick is at bit too hard, i think, might want to ease that one up.
how long were you practicing on reason before you did this? i cant even figure that program out myself, but i got fruity pretty down. anyways, keep on practicing. i never thought i could do what i can today, but ya, improvement comes in great steps, and dont be afraid to try new stuff, just to see how it sounds =).

Thanks for the comments Shep, Hadi...

I've only been using it a few months. It took ages to get anything working though... I had no real knowledge of how to work the synths or anything so it was a long and arduous process to even get noises coming out of my stupid laptop speakers! I still have a hell of a lot to learn though, but I'm enjoying the learning experience so it's all good...
