Mixer question

Hey, I have a JB-systems Classic 3 at home, I always enjoyed this little mofo. But it seems that if I mix at parties, with those Rodec beasts, it's alot smoother, it semes as if it takes out the high/mid/low tones a lot better then the JB Systems thingy. I never really noticed it, I just thought I always had good nights lol. But reading this forum, which is new to me, never browsed it, I notice there's quite a big difference between mixing quality/mixer ?

Am I correct here ? Anyone who has some suggestions for some good mixers that will serve me another couple of years (4+) ? 4 channels would be great, but since I kinda like to stick to my two decks less is ok .. but I don't think the good mixers come with two channels, except for the scratch tables, but I got me that technics one a couple of years ago, stopped scratching, and sold it, but didn't really notice a lot of difference between JB/Tech.

Thanks

I have an allen heath xone 32 for my mixer. the Sound quality is great. I highly recommend it for clean output. I paid 599$ for brand new one from northernsound.net. I also got the penny&Giles crossfader on it and that fader is supposed to last till 5,000,000 passes while the new vestax PVC crossfaders are benchmarked at 2,000,000 passes. (2 million is still good, imo , but 5 million is better.)

The thing about the Allen Heath Xone 32 is that it is a mixer that mixes Dance music/House/prog house/(fast tempo - long mixing music) well. The mixer doesnt not do well if you are using the crossfader to scratch alot. The EQ on the mixer if very good.

The other brands that I was looking at before I bought my mixer were made by RANE, Ecler (pro 30/40 smac models), Allen & Heath, and Vestax.

I can scratch better on an the Ecler and Vestax mixers . But I luv my A&H xone 32 for mixing uptempo, faster paced music.

Ok I'll have a look, but the new mixer is not for scratching, it's for trance etc.. mixing in general.

well, if you want to be technical don't worry about the x-fader too much, because if you're mixing trance, it's better to use your up faders and just leave the x-fader in the middle.
