Groove Armada, Morcheeba, and Weekend Players

hey there ... i know these artists are DEFINATELY not trance, but my brain has been getting fried up in school and trance or classical music (the usual remedies) are not being the solutions to cooling my brain. past couple of days, it has been these artists and "never wanted this" . therefore, if anyone is familiar with these bands, can you label what genre they are? .. i have no idea what to label them ... modern jazz? acid jazz? mellow? ambient? pure cockamany bullcrap? hahhahahaha

They're all fairly mellow......... yeah now you've got me thinking I dont really know what genre to classify them in either. If you're still chillin out to these tunes I recommend you get some songs by crazy penis, they're awesome

I would classify them as downtempo and trip-hop.

Morcheeba would probably fit these genres, I don't agree with using them for Weekend Players and Groove Armada, though. Weekend Players are more of a house project (check 21st Century and Into The Sun), where as Groove Armada does so many different things (funk, house, downtempo, lounge etc.) that pigeonholing them into the trip-hop and dowtempo genre is nowhere near doing them justice.

I personally love these groups also. If you like this kind of music, you should definately pick up the Zero 7 album "Simple Things" - it's awesome
