Icone - No Regret (Full 96 kbps)

Hey all,

Here's one of my latest tracks, 96 kbps full version.

icone-no_regret__original_mix__96kbps_

Sorry about the quality, but I can't release the full hifi version. At least it still is 96, not 32kbps as some post up. I hope you understand. Still I'd want your thoughts on what things you can hear in this version

Regards,
Wim

hey wim

this is sweet , buildup very good, loved the part when the choir came in, pinao very nice.

the lead has alot of energy, the only thing that cloud be better(i think) is the base.

but overall very good.

and is this beeing send to labels? thats why its 96kb?

Posted by Xenoid on Nov-14-2003 15:40:

Well the theme is not bad,but the production still at the amateur level.
Mmm... not strong enough.

Posted by TOR on Nov-14-2003 15:45:

hehe, i see you kept the piano.
i still find a bit too happy in comparison to the other elements.

apart from that, it's a very good track.
the effects you added work well, and the kick is much better as well.

Is this the first Icone track that isn't also a Opel/Vauxall car? You had Meriva, Vectra, Tigra, Corsa...
Anyway, The Icone sound is back and as good as ever!

Good percussion and bass.. that laser thing sounds a little weird though.. cool piano.. I nice arpeggio build up would of been cool at 3:10 along with the choir instead of using the piano again - chords might not of been the best thing to use.. or you could of had the chords an octave or two lower and have a nice piano melody over top -real nice at 4:07.. cool saw melody and nice build up.. good stuff over all.. honestly don't think I'll be keeping it though.. only because I'm very sick of the chord melody used with a saw.. it's so boring.. but that's just me - great job!

Posted by alanzo on Nov-15-2003 08:06:

by "chord melody used with a saw" I meant that it's overused in trance as a whole - wanted to clarify..

Posted by Icone on Nov-15-2003 11:49:

Thanks for the feedback people!

Xenoid :: could you please clarify what you think I can do about it?

alanzo :: there's alot of things overused in a trance track if I could be picky well, I'm kinda tired of so many 'pad leads' being used recently, so I guess that's also personal taste I personally love it when there's a tune released with a good riff or main melody, instead of a slight difference between buildup and main sequence.

Wim

Cool

i agree on the bass, it's a bit sparse and doesn't carry the tracl, there seems to be a hint of sub bass, but it's far from driving.

Posted by KilldaDJ on Nov-15-2003 15:45:

Be Cool!

at 3:10, id amplify the bass a bit and lower the choir sounds a tad

at the mo it sounds a little bit like some of wippenberg's work

the synth is very wippenberg ish in their rmx of tukan - light a rainbow rmx

but its not bad, ive heard some of ur better works, wim

go a bit wild!

Hey man, since i've been apart of 'TranceAddict' for the past couple of months, i've seen your name mentioned here more than a few times.

I dig your production, FL and a few VSTi's used to perfection ;-). (VERY NICE!)

The only thing I would say about your music is, try to use some different sounds and different production tecniques. The sound you produce is excellent, BUT, all your tracks seem to have pretty much the same sounds and production.
Not that its bad but, I know from experience that if you are sending out to REPUTABLE record labels, they like to see variance in artist's work, mainly to show them that ur worth keeping on the books if your going down various avenues of production.
Im not saying your should start producing some underground 'Sonic-Art' type media but try doing something a little different, maybe add some 'random' ambient sounds or just be a little more 'off the cuff' with your producing.

This isn't mean't as a dis, just some constructive critism from a fellow artist!

Maximum respect to ya mate and keep up the cracking work!!!!

regards

Thanks for the feedback people, I appreciate it.

The bass sounds good enough on my hifi and headphones, though doesn't come quite through the speakers in this track... Perhaps add some mid-low freqs and get rid of some very low ones?

Wim

Gave it the twice over, liked it a lot. My biggest complaint would be the bassline, it sounds a little "empty". Either have a few more bass notes, or do as you suggested and beef up the lower mid frequencies. Possibly throw another bass layer on there, not sure (listening to it in my sony v700s btw).

Good work.

hey wim

sounds great, typical icone sound, but im not getting fed up of that like some people Because im not as good of a producer as you, i cant really criticise, but the bass could be a bit more "rollin" if you no what i mean.

anyway

great track!

(any chance of a midi )

heh

hey man, wicked productions.....this one is just as good as the rest.......do u have any of ur work pressed, and if so who carries u?

Posted by State of Matter on Nov-19-2003 04:41:

Already spoke my piece about this track before with the sample, and it sounds great, as usual. Nothing to criticize, just keep producing like this.

As always great stuff, not much to critisise on.

Keep up the good work!

Icone - No Regret

Hey very good work!! Only thing is, that the piano part remembers me on "Beachbreeze" from Svenson & Gielen!

it's not that, it's just that it feels quite stuttery and not all there, almost like breaks bass.

Posted by AZCA on Nov-20-2003 18:43:

awesome

Well, it's not an arp bass like I used before

Maybe therefore the 'gaps'?

Posted by EternalMusic on Nov-21-2003 14:38:

Well, you know i like it, the break is great, i like the choirs. the melody is very good as well! good job
