Tampa/Sarasota Scene? is there one?

New to Florida, looking into the trance scene close by..Tampa/sarasota area...is there even one? is there one close by..closer than miami or is it a three hour drive or no trance at all? =P Appreciate all the input

Not really man. I live in Clearwater and its mainly breaks. And not even good breaks. However, I dont know how close to Clearwater you are, but right before the beach theres a place called Greenbacks. Me and a couple of buddies spin there on Monday nights. We spin a mixture of progressive breaks, progressive house and trance. Its usually a pretty decent turnout of about 50-100 people. However, this coming monday we are starting a new drink special. $6.00 all you can drink. So that should start bringing more people out. Other than that, the closest you will get to trance is once in a while at the Ybor Ampitheater. Tomorrow night they have Kimball Collins there. But Clearwater is home to a popular trance dj named Suzy Solar. She actually works out at my gym.

Sweet soudns interesting..you spin there? whats your alias? And is it 18up or 21up? for all the youngins (that includes me sadly..18)
Clearwater is maybe an hour hour andahalf tops from where my HOUSE is...so its not bad at all...ill definatly have to support the FL TA's and show ya some support if its 18up =P peace buddy, KEEP layin the trace down =)

there is a scene in the tampa area however i wouldn't exactly call it trance i would say more uhmmm cheese breakbeats...lol if you want good music in florida miami gets all the talent, but random events also happen in orlando and gainesville

about a month or so ago i started going to rain lounge on saturdays, they play progressive, some trance, but ussually prog mixes of trance tunes...

that's probably the best i have found. rain lounge is not in ybor city (tampa), it's on nebraska ave. in downtown tampa ($5 21+ all)

that greenbacks place sounds interesting...

Ehhhh 5$ 21+? that negociable? lol aka would an "ID" work?

That's as pretty cool club. I like the waterfall thing they have going down the window. Kinda reminds me of some of the clubs in Miami.
