Love Rugby World Cup Love?

Where is it everyone?

Opinions on the finals?

Im hoping for an australian vs england final, while in all probability itll be new zealand vs england.

Who do you think will win the cup?

Posted by arctic on Nov-15-2003 09:25:

I hope aus will win, I think we have the talent to do it, but tbh I really don't know. I have a sneaking suspicion that it might be a France vs NZ final, France played amazingly well against Ireland, if they do that against the pomms then England will likley lose.

who ever voted for new zealand, tough luck

*smiley waving australian flag*

GO YOU GOOD THING!
Fuck man .. what a game .. everyone lifted for the big game ..
Rogers = only dropped it twice
Dell = didn't fuck-up .. and had a nice defensive tackle at the start which if he missed, could've been a bad signal for the rest of the game
Mortlock = OMG CAN U SAY METERAGE! Plus that huge-ass risky interception which basically set our good vibe
Tuquiri = Good as ever, boy can he run .. and that mark he took at speed .. phoaar
And our defence ... man so good .. NZ had no idea how to break it ..
I'm so happy .. omg Can' twait for the final .. wish the WC wasn't in the middle of my exam period

Australia won. I am drunk. That is all that matters...

Posted by arctic on Nov-15-2003 15:06:

What an awesome game, Rogers only managed to drop the ball twice this time. Give the man a beer!

I suspect an Aus vs. Froggies final is coming up.

Couldn't give a fuck, but for some reason a group of friends and i ended up watching the rugby match on Lygon St when we were supposed to go to the beach.....wtf?

NZ crumbled... well done australia!

Posted by Spang on Nov-16-2003 02:08:

Great game last night. Australia really played well and once again NZ couldnt handle the pressure. Australia is probably the best defencive team in the world at the moment and that showed last night. NZ is a world class team but if there not going forward they always seem to crumble, especially if the 5/8th is always under pressure like he was last night.

Tonights game should be the better of the 2 i think. Im heading out there tonight so im really looking forward to it. France has been playing some really entertaining rugby like they always do and even though they have been playing the better of the 2 sides so far i would really like to see england win just for the sake of the final game.

Australia- England battle for the cup just seems more exciting.

GO YOU GOOD THING

Mortlock played an absolute stunner. That intercept really got the ball rolling and settled some nerves I think.

Flatley did great as well. Right on with the boot.

So it's Swing Low vs. Waltzing Matilda next weekend ...

Jonny is gonna cause us problems though hopefully we can shut him down like we did to Carlos.

GO YOU AUSSIES!

In all seriousness, CAN ENGLAND SCORE A TRY!!?? I mean they are the most boring team in the history of the game. Even their own fans were booing them when kicking. Poor form, One man team!
IMHO Field Goals should be worth one. I mean if you just kick a field goal everytime you are there, you will have like 40 points and a whole lot of pissed off spectators. Cmon IRB, give us something to watch. The aussies, now there's an excitement machine (Rogers, Sailor, Tiquiri(all ex league players :d)

GO THE AUSSIES!

hehehehe we have our ways & tactics, to be fair we haven't found our form even yet, so this week will be important for us to try & make it click like last time we played you guys, that was what we 'can' do, but if we do, who knows, I don't think the guys do, just need it to click, but as boring as we have been, we've always come through which is the sign of a good side, like the germans in football, nobody complains when they win the world cup there as long as they do it. just wanna say that the best team on the day will win, but I'm really glad this is the final, and see your boys there

am i the only person who finds themself stabbing their right eye with a fork whenever they watch england play?
holy shit if everyone played the dry, monotonous rugby they did then i would take up the soccer
its so frustrating when your watching them play top class teams and having to sit through the wilkinson kicking show
many years ago there was a new zealander by the name of don clarke. he had the most prodigous boot in the history of rugby....what im getting at is that they changed it so you could only kick out on the full from behind your 22 because he would do it from everywhere. they should do the same kind of thing by changing the amount of points given in penalties and the amount a field goal is worth to 1, that way we wouldnt have rugby's version of beckham ruining perfectly good matches
*nb don clarke (or one of his brothers) kicked a field goal from inside his 22 in a barbarians match

im a bit shitty cause i had $50 on france to win is all
but i cant see australia toppling the machine that is england
none the less ill be cheering for the wallabies

Posted by escee on Nov-16-2003 13:51:

i agree that englands "pass it to johnny" strategy is total balls. Someone needs to tell them they are allowed to move around the sides of the field and not just kick it there.

Posted by Sid on Nov-16-2003 13:52:

can't handle the arrogance of the aussie team, so was in strong support of NZ. They lost and the Poms won in the other semi. So its Australia Vs England. Who the hell do you go for ?????

I would probably go for the aussies for the one simple fact that we continue to have it over the Poms in every single sporting event we compete with them and wouldn't want reccent trends to change. However dont really care, because if the Aussies do win, Eddie Jones and co are gunna come out and say "told you so, told you so. We knew what we were doing the entire time" when in reality it will be the biggest sporting fluke in the history of mankind.
