Posted by jesten on Jul-19-2001 14:20:

$20 @ door

Talking

Ya Apex is usually pretty cheap. $20 bux at the door for like 10 stages plus Dumonde is more then worth it. Then again you can just sneak in. Me and like 12 people snuck in to Magic Mountain last weekend and it was sooooooo easy. there is usually an entire side of the party that has no fence. We got chased by security but it was hella fun.

Was anyone at apex last year? I hope the stages arnt as far apart as last time.

DUMONDE

I was thinking about going to Apex this year and making it my first party off Vancouver Island. I've never heard of Dumonde before, Can anyone recommend any tracks/sets of his? What kind've trance does he play?

dumonde is djs jam-x and de leon,
they're pretty big with smashes "tomorrow" in 2000 and "never look back" this year. they're new release is "borrowed tomorrow", one of those synergies..

if anyone wants a set of theres i have one from somewhere cant remember, but yah they're definitely good.

WAY too good for 10/20 dollars.

when are tix on sale? and what venue

Posted by jesten on Jul-20-2001 00:22:

Tickets on sale now. It's only 3 weeks away. No idea where the venue is though.

Hey Special how was Dumonde?? What tunes was he spinning?

Posted by jesten on Aug-06-2001 04:23:

Also meantioned in the music discussion forum, but check out www.dumonde.de , it says that their appearence in Vancouver(Apex) was cancelled. Do you guys think there was an imposter there? Was G-House trying to pull the wool over our eyes?

Posted by Special_K on Aug-06-2001 08:48:

Ok it might not have been one of them. The guy was playing in the headliners spot and he was spinning stuff that reflected Dumonde's productions. It was a style of trance that isnt being spun in Vancouver. If it waasnt Dumonde then i really want to know who it was. there mixing was bloody incredible.

Posted by patticus on Aug-06-2001 09:27:

dumonde's style isnt being spun in vancouver? at all?
im surprised. youd think its kinda commercial....

Posted by jesten on Aug-06-2001 21:21:

I have never heard Dumonde live, could I DL a set off someone?

Posted by .montecarlo. on Aug-06-2001 21:24:

i got some dumonde live sets, icq 123729989 or pm

Posted by Special_K on Aug-06-2001 22:45:

I guess Dumonde didnt show for the party. They might of had a replacment headliner from out of town. If this guy was from Van im sure i would have heard him before, he played the smoothest epic trance I have ever heard, and hid mixes were flawless.

The Trance Proffessors are a Vancouver BC, based trance duo I think we play the same heavy and hard bass style of trance, we are playing @ Dayglow 2 on Aug 11th @ the Art Gallery, so listen to us @

let us know what you think,,,

Posted by patticus on Aug-07-2001 21:40:

yes ive heard of the trance professors, to be hoenst i dont like the "heavy and hard" sound at all of trance.. if you mean like dj scot project type stuff.. but i'll check yall out

dumonde is still kinda epic stuff? at least the remixes.. that must be one of the main reasons for its popularity, i just realized
i mean the lange rmx of tomorrow and tiesto mix of never look back

but yah i find the typical kind of bass kick real annoying
just imo

Ya i heard your guyses set that night. You might remember me and my friend standing right in front of you guys fro most of your set. Naaa your style isnt like the type I heard. Ill try to describe it. I can compare it best to John'00'Flemings style. The set had such a driving feeling because there was a complete lack of build ups. The tracks slowly build layer upon layer. It had more of a deeper feeling then an epic one.

Posted by patticus on Aug-07-2001 23:12:

john flemming is awesome

i know what you mean, not too epic but melodic, deep... i likes a lot

Posted by Special_K on Aug-07-2001 23:59:

Ya i love it. Thats the style of trance im starting to lean towards. Unfortunatly buying records like that in Vancouver is VERY difficult, there jusnt not around this area.

Drunk

Doh.
I like tripping to his music at nite... I got hooked when I first heard the essential mix by him. Fuckin deepest shit...
How many albums does he have released?
