Review: Liebing!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just got home, head still spinnin.

shout out to TAs:

All i have to say is BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO to the crowd, seemed like whenever i turned around i had a buch of people standing around! it was a first pumping set, fuck you to those who didnt carry the energy! That was techno ladies and gents, no ways around it! At least liebing was into it!

See you all next week, bring your dancing shoes OR ELSE!

didnt know a single tune, besides murder was the base and that stuck out like a sore thumb. Other then that one tune, it was techno alllllllllll the way!

also liebing seemed like a really nice guy, I told him to "rip it up tonight" and he said, "I'll try". took a picture with me techno addict and hordash. Tell me what i missed at the end and enjoy the rest of it!!!!!!!!!!!!

it was defenitely an amazing night tonight.. it was my first time goin alone at a part and at first it was wierd but then everyone was so cool and the night beame so magical!!!!

man i took at pic with him while he was spinning! liebings an awesome guy i asked him all these questions about what up and comer djs and producers should do, he was pretty helpful, and i got to speak a bit of german with him

Liebing kicked some major ass last night. WOW!!! I love his style of dancy techno. Kept me movin for his entire 3 hour set. Would love to see him come back to Toronto more often but he deserves a better venue for sure. TheNeonAlien, it was nice meeting you for the first time. SKELETOR, think I saw you last night, I'll be sure to say hi next time. And to the rest of the techno posse, it was a blast.

Which is why I didn't go. I like my techno served with a side of funk.

Besides, it couldnt be a late night for me - I was home by 1:15 so I would have missed Liebing's entire set, which would have pissed me off if I had gone expecting to hear him at 12.

Anyways, I'm done justifying my absence, I had a great time at System.

liebing was alright...im not a huge techno fan, and i can only stand about 2 hours max at a time. i only went cause one of my friends is a huge techno fan, and he really wanted to go.
the first 30 minutes of his set though were amazing...really deep and hypnotic, but then after that it all started to sound the same. it was really cool to go up and watch him work though.

i loved the venue. it was my first time at surface and its great! i love the chill out area in the front. it reminds me of someones house...and the dancefloor area is really dark and dirty looking, its so fuckin great!!

it was an alright time...

Furious, hard, mindblowing, hypnotic.......just crazy crazy ass beats last night. Totally what i expected from Chris....not better, not worse, just EXACTLY what i imagined him to be live. Great interaction with the crowd, and a really REALLY nice guy. Throughout his set he posed with various TA's (me being one of them). When i went up there for my pic, the bouncer started pulling on my shirt to get me out of the "booth", Chris motioned him away, and posed for a bad-ass pic. Like Vince said in his review, not many ID's at all to be mentioned....but the one that i can add that really i felt had the crowd moving the most was his crazy remix of "Seven Nation Army". Started out with the sick bassline, and later evolved into a pounding rendition with vocals and everything!! Very tasty. The crowd was very "meh" to say the least. For the caliber of the set he delivered every muther****** in that basement looking shit box shouldve been dancing their asses off!! But whatev, had a great time with the TA's that came out. And ya.....ill have to disagree with those who thought it was a good venue for Chris.....his quality and style of music deserves a way better system and bigger venue.

we were way in the back for most of the night. i came up front for like 20 mins or so at around 2.

there was so much room in the back, it was great...and the sound was a lot better back there too.
