Hmmmm this is a hard question . Tiesto as a producer rocks , but ALL of his live sets i listened to are CRAPPY . In the other hand , PvD as a producer rocks , he has the best sets ever , he rocked the house when i saw him here in Montreal , but i have to admit that 2 of his latest sets were CRAPPY . Let's say PvD is better than Tiesto

Posted by amit on Jul-17-2001 12:23:

yeh pvd is better as a dj not as a producer

Posted by esskeh on Jul-17-2001 12:50:

errr.... no

tiesto is the best DJ on the planet, u had to be at the summer sound system to realize this. pvd comes close but he aint quite got the spark tiesto has.

tiesto is a fuckin wicked producer, PvD is wank. so i say "OI!! van Dyk!! NOOOOOOOOOOO!! get a new fuckin drum machine and get some originality!!"

thats my veiw on the subject heheh

Posted by tu_face on Jul-17-2001 15:52:

Smiling Frog

oh yeah... and PvD is a piss-head

peace

Posted by Weac on Jul-17-2001 16:54:

why do u so angry ...relax

Posted by S-ay on Jul-17-2001 17:15:

OK, I think the dj vs. dj threads need to stop. Everyone has their own opinion when it comes to a topic like this one and it is only going to start argument after argument.

Posted by Weac on Jul-17-2001 17:26:

agreed with u... or it would start third world war!!!

Posted by Twilogoddess on Jul-17-2001 18:42:

Tiesto NEEDS some NEW records! He's playin the same tunes at every gig, thats lazy & he's becoming predictable.

"pvd comes close....pvd is a wank"

I guess I dont know British but I dont understand these statements..

ok....
if we are talking... about "originality"...

all tiesto's remix since sounds the same.

try:

Silence, Cabal (Energy Flow), Velvet Moods, Sunrise, Re-Form (Same as Urban Train), Viola... etc.... too much to mention...

also...
check Tijs playlist since April 1st 2001.
TILL TODAY!!!!!!! HE HAS BEEN PLAYING ALL THE SAME TUNES. i got "ALL" his sets and they are all the same.. "Magik Seven"... hmm.. "Revolution" hmmmmmm.... i won`t go deep on it....

PvD always 'Innovate... and... his drums kick ass.. that's what makes PvD rule...

Paul always blow it up... he "nevah" dissapoints NEVER!
chek his sets.... all traxxxx unknown... and he plays lotzzzz of promos every week.

no more to say...

Vandit kicks Black-Hole ass.

Starfox strikes once again (he never stops) . I hope tu_face is now convinced ...

Hello!

Ok ppl... listen here... I've seen both of them live and they both fuckin rock. I dont care wat u all say, both Tiesto and PvD are trance gods. Each has their own style and both have a their own charisma. To ppl who think that Tiesto suck, ur dumb. And to the ppl who think PvD suck, ur dumb too. And why? because their both equally good and if you had the chance to see them spin you would. Think of all the music you'd be missing out on if the world didnt have Tiesto or a PvD. So, I think you should all be grateful that there are such music geniuses as Tiesto and PvD in this world. Instead of dissing everyone all time we should be grateful for wat we have.

Why does everyone always want to find out "who is better" or who the best trance "God" is...hehe

To each their own! There will never be one definitive answer...just a bunch of posts saying...no he is better...no.....he is better!

im not disputing pvd's DJing prowess, on that i agree with u starfox, he is fuckin rate good on the dex... but ive seen tiesto loads of times and he is fuckin wicked. those of u who say 'ah he is playuing the same tunes all the time'... u dont hear him play as often as i do and he doesnt play all the same shit all the time... as ive sed in another thread, all dj's have their good and bad patches, all dj's sometimes play similar sets. if the latest releases dont come to the standard he expects he aint gonna play them. and that goes for every dj on the planet.

but pvd's tunes arnt that impressive to me, i mean their OK but nothin special... whereas tiesto's last few productions, silence, innocente, urban train & 643 are all completely diferent styles of tunes. i respect originality & diversity in an artist. pvd has neither. c'mon, what was all the fuss about 'tell me why (the riddle)'???? IT WAS SHITE! another way, avenue.. all them sound the same, tacky drum machine that he hasnt changed for god knows how long (it cant be that hard to put new samples into a drum machine can it??) and as for his last album (out there and back)... pfft... waste of fuckin money. out of the lot there was like 3 tunes i found nearly stimulating...

but just to make sure u dont take me wrong... once again ill say it, he is a fuckin wicked dj...

peace

There both great, so let this be and enjoy their music(where all lucky that they spin)And FASTDJMP3 you can't judge a dj when you never heard the guy live(tiesto can play with the crowd and can make them go crazy...I can't judge PvD because I never heard him live.

So peace
