Trance and it's direction...

It seems that trance is starting to sound a little more diverse than the usual power anthem formulaic structure, but it doesn't seem to be "changing"...or is it?
Where do you think trance is going to go within the next few whatevers(weeks, months, years...). Seems like the trend now is the progressive/housey sort of trance ala Markus Shulz, G&D etc...I really don't find this kind of trance interesting, for it starts to sound relatively the same after a few songs. It's almost like a new version of progressive trance...
I hope that tech-related influence will veer trance in it's direction...
Anybody else on this?(And no stupid ass posts please...threads like LMFAO@Rap or shit like that are not welcome or needed.)

I think trance for 2003 has taken quite a different turn. Tracks these days are less formulaic (thank god), more harder and I would say more darker.

Not sure about progressive sound though, that was more of the sound 2002 for trance.

I enjoy the current sound, I love G&D. there are tonsa new diverse tracks that have/will come out by artists everywhere from all the styles of trance. I think g&d will stay on top for a while, their productions are amazing (uh go ahead and flame).

I think that each of the sub-genres are becoming more defined, perhaps with artists perfecting the sounds of their specific genre as well. Which is a good thing, because that way it'll be easier to classify songs, but also create new genres (as if there weren't enough already!).

I love the uplifting stuff. My fav genre ever. There's so many layers and melodies, and with the extra deep bass that's appearing these days, I think that that creates a much broader sounding song. I'm not really a believer in the 'more is less' theory, so I like my tunes rammed with melodies etc.

Having said that though, G&D seem to put the 'more is less' to good effect.

I think the uplifting vocal trance is getting more uplifting and vocal (*coughcheesiercough*), while the other stuff is getting, harder, darker, and deeper. Along with things having more a techno influenced sound.
