I don't like the White Stripes, and my tastes in music vary. Trance mainly, but I used to be heavy into rock/punk/emo, so I'm well educated in that world, and from time to time still listen. (I went to Deftones last monday) But the White Stripes are one of the worst bands ever created in my opinion.

they're wicked!
Ya know whats funny...
Jack White, from the white stripes, was like number 20 or something, of the greatest guitarists of all time.
Rolling stone magazine.. dont know fer sure what position he was.. i didnt read or see that article..this is just from secondary source.
But i heard he was rated higher than Jimmy Page!
hmmm
discuss
besides no one's better than TOM SCHULZ!!! of Boston!!!
I really dig a lot of there stuff. I don't think Jack White is a top 20 guitarist, but he's definalty got some skills.
White Stripes only got popular because of a current trend MTV was going through with odd-sounding Rock bands. Can't for the life of me remember the other bands who were getting a lot of air time (Which proves something in itself). Either way, they all suck.

Not my type of music, and I like pretty much everything.
The White Stripes music is simple, yet effective. I like them. ![]()
They are shit. The most overrated band in the world together with The Strokes.
They are doing absolutely nothing that wasn't done 60 years ago already... only they did it better back then. These days it seems you only need to have a guitar, dirty clothes and a name that starts with "the" and you can sell a million records overnight.

they are poop.
artsy fartsy videos and overly simplistic rock music can be catchy, but along with the strokes, the hives, and any other band with "the" in the title - its already been done before, check the 60s and 70s|

They opened with minerva, third song (my fav) was My own summer, mixed a bunch of really old Deftones songs with some new(ish) ones.
i like the white stripes but even better is the strokes

I don't understand why everybody is calling them over-rated & sound like rock from the 60s & 70s. I don't know how many of you realize that The White Stripes consist of two musicians. I can't recall any "band" that is only made up of two people.
I think they're very talented.
