HappyHappy i just saw PVD in chicago HOB & tell me about Fergie

i Just saw PVD in chicago last sat (11/15/03). what an amazing set. He broke out some old school trance and had a great encore. One thing that he did do was play the blade soundtrack song, which i had never heard him play before. All in all it was a great night.

I heard about this fergie kid, but i dont know too much about him, anyone have some info on him or can give me some ideas where i can get some live sets of him?

anyone know of jonathan peters, he's pretty bad ass, he plays down at soundfactory in NYC. Anybody have any comments on him?

Im new here and Im loving this website so far. Finally a place where i can discuss and hear the latest on my favortie djs! take care, feel free to message me whenever.

Ovie

I was there too.
So you live in or around Chicago then?
Well I cant tell you much about Fergie but if youre referring to this Saturday at Vision, I'll let you know that Marco V will also be playing. He is definitely very good. Check under the local forums for the chicago midwest section. Theres threads about it in there.

New Order - Confusion

Mos Def a Bangin tune...it surprised me that he dropped that as well...but I love that song. It was a different mix than the Pump Panel Reconstruction that is found on the Blade Soundtrack. I've not been to many shows but it just seems that when big dj's play the U.S. they do throw in some harder deeper stuff than normally heard. Works for me...I like it...and maybe why they spin it

fergie is one of the best hard house djs in europe at the moment. By that i mean proper hard house like BK, tidy boys and andy farly not north american hard house like dj dan. He also plays quality funky techno and he supposedly inherited tony de vits record collection.

He is quality when is he going to be there i might have to make a trip out to Yankistan if he is there

your correct, he did inherit tdv's entire record collection

however...fergie is awful, plays over hyped dated tracks, avoid like the plague. have heard him live once, and that was for 10 mins waiting for jon o'bir to come on at gods. have heard him enough on radio 1, IMO shit dj

Fergie stole the show this past Saturday at Vision, at least as far as I'm concerned. I had a blast.

My photos from that night are here: http://www.cawtech.com/~caw/PhotoGa...ion/2003-11-22/

Smiley DJ

In respsonse to your question about Fergie. He is a relatively young Irish DJ, who was taught how to DJ by the legendary Tony de Vit (RIP). Subsequently TDV passed down his record collection to Fergie. Originally he was a techno DJ, but under pressure from his label and others, he was forced to play Hard House. Recently, he has refused to bow to the pressure, and has been playing dirty techno sets across England, ignoring clubs music policies and doing as he pleases. From my experience he can be amazing, but at the same time he has a tendancy to get absolutely fucked and then he staggers about in the DJ booth and he can suck.

Hope this helps
