228 viruses

i have a day-off today, cuz my labs are being desinfected, so i have decided to scan my computer for viruses as well. i haven't done this a 1/2 year and my defence shields were off Norton Antivirus found 228 viruses maybe i should start collecting them

they appear to be in the server [i've called my neighbour and he said he will check it]. as i sometimes have nothing to do, i do watch movies, party-pics and funny stuff from our server. it's still kinnda weird, cuz i haven't downloaded anything in ages... oh well, they don't bother me there are only some photos, several games, a movie and unimportant documents in my cpu

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that it's probably just 1 or 2 virii that have replicated themselves into 228 files.

The thought of having 228 unique virii is, well, scary. To get that many virii, you'd have to be routinely downloading infected 3|_337 ]-[@x0|21/\/6 700|_z from KaZaA or script kiddie sites.

AND purposely installing them. i don't know if i'd be able to get that many even if i tried.

i was kinnda interested in your words and i've checked the report, yes, it was 8 different viruses and 2 of them had replicated! so, FALSE ALARM still, it's a nice number

btw: what does this sh** 3|_337 ]-[@x0|21/\/6 700|_z mean???
i didn't download anything from kazaa or othr, cuz i have no pier-to-pier programes on my pcu...

that's how 12yo kids communicate in CS channels. i haven't witnessed it with my own eyes, but i've been told horrible tales...

i had once developed a java program that translated everything into 1337 speak.. used multiple translations for each letter and randomized which one it was going to use..

You've gotta pay more attention to the actual messages that come up, but anyway...

A trojan isn't a type of virus, it's an evil program you downloaded off KaZaA or some warez site that, if run, will do evil things to your computer. It doesn't "infect" files like a virus does though.

So, must likely, Norton put that file into quarantine, and that's why it's not coming up in scans anymore. If you never executed the trojan program, you're fine - if you did, Norton probably did not fix whatever the trojan did, and I hope for your sake that you paid attention to what the name of the trojan was so you can google it and find out how to fix it.
