what do you do after work?

i have this new problem. i get home from work and me and my bf dont have anything to do. when we lived in new york it seemed like we always had some errand to run when i got home. but now we live in the suburbs and i get home and i dont know what to do with myself.

so far we have been cooking dinner and watching a movie or something almost every night. sometimes we go food shopping instead of watching a movie.

there has to be more to do in the suburbs than this. any ideas?

nah... we love our house and the location - it is really close to my job. we just dont know what to do with all this new spare time now that i dont have to commute an hour each way.

Still at work ... in another 30 minutes I can expense dinner, woohoo!!! When I get home I'll probably buy a six pack ... then either read, watch tv, or go out to a local bar ... maybe all the above in that order.

I asked the lab guy who is 25 (have no idea what he is but he's always here in the lab) what he and his wife do...they live near my campus. Which I guess is suburbs. He said they attend concerts and stuff (guest lectures/speakers, etc) here or at Berkeley (lots of evening activities on both campuses but you have to drive from where you are). They go into San Francisco and take walks. They take turns cooking new/cool stuff. And they both have new hobbies (she's quilting and he's sculpting). They were outside of Boston (Harvard) before coming here.

Are you going to Spective's party on the 25th? That sounds like it will be fun!

I'm no help. All I do is study.

Have you ever heard the Schulz before? I'm a loyal devotee now and I envy you lol.

Butterfly, enjoy the natural beauty that is California! Go to Muir woods for example.

You should move to England where we have miserable rainy weather, lots of old people who've joined Bowls Clubs and a load of teenage toe-rags who spend all their time hanging around in groups hurling abuse at people coz they've got nothing better to do. That's fun I tells ya!

And we've got snooker. None of that American Pool rubbish with marbles for balls and tiny little pool tables the size of dinner plates. Although English pool tables are smaller. Lousy country...

spin and drink

thats all i wanna do right now
i'd kill to have the free time you do so i could spend my time on the decks with a g&t at my side

welcome to the suburbs Melissa

I got hit with bordom two years ago when I moved here and I still havent adjusted after all this time .... my fun is during the weekends when I leave town

otherwise I have like 2 1/2 hours of daily commute and well I guess that keeps that much more time away from being desperately bored.

hope you can work something out.....

ps : get a new hobby.
