Smiley DJ Alphablue - Innerworks

Artist: Alphablue
Name: Innerworks
Style: 4 Strings | Above and Beyond | Rank 1
Info: My first "release" under alphablue that isnt a remix.
Note: Needs maybe a bit more mastering and i want to send it out as a demo.
Download: Save Target As

UPDATE:
Download updated with a leveled 96kbs version. (much better quality)
No Final Master yet tho!

Due to some insane comments about being a signable track i felt it necessary to put up a 96kb/s version while i master and send out the track! Wish Me LucK!

All Comments Appreciated!

OMG! (i don't OMG alot but on this one i feel like doing it)

I'm speechless! I really like this, very much energy, driving bassline, good kick and those trancy breaks after 4 min mark really make a good effect. I could imagine this being played on ASOT and spinning this myself too. I just love all your sounds, smooth saw synths, beautiful atmosphere. Mmm soo beautiful!! The 2+ min breakdown & buildup is strong enough to compete with other trancers out on the trancefloors. I like it so much i could give it a 9.5/10, just some hi freqs here and there sound too overbearing and even a bit muffled (or whatyashouldcallit) when played out loud.. you should check the levels, they will kill ppl's ears (or speakers' trebles) in the club. Otherwise, IMO it's near perfection.

Hi!

Its a decent track, great strings!Bass is wicked, the clap can be better, the melody around 5:00 is quite simple or dull hard to describe, anyways is it an Appregaitor ? If it is, maybe you should add another dinamic melody. Offcourse thats my opinion , nice track overall.

hey bro, you already know what i think of this track, fuckin amazing =). we can talk more later =)

Pretty good stuff, I like the melody.
However, the pad seems to be too loud, it tends to hog the entire mix. There's also some slight distortion here and there.

Now this is big room trance at its best Wicked track.

There is a few minor points and others have pointed them out, the pads are too loud and do over power it in places with a slight distortion and the clap is too '909' if you know what i mean!

Other than that its on the money 9/10

definitely check out the mastering, it's a little bit too loud (well, some say there isn't such thing as 'too loud', i disagree on there) and there are some clearly distorted areas. also, on the very start of the track i got a slight MIDI-ish/amatuer-ish feeling.. probably has to do with the bassline, but nevermind, maybe i'm exagerating a bit, it isn't a major deal.

apart from it, you got what it takes to be signed and played by the big djs! really good tune, the melodies are so simple yet so effective. keep up the good work

Not bad. Melodies are aight but not quite memorable enough imo and not really a fan of the bass drum really. But that's just me. Other people here seem to dig the track.

after that review...i had to take a listen...

my thoughts:

its pretty good. i really liked that part around 2 minutes too...i think with a little refining it could be great. it does have a nice little quality to it...

update: put up a higher quality 96kbs sample which i leveled properly. (link in 1st post) Its still not mastered completly but im pretty happy with the sound of it so far.

Thank You Everyone For Such Nice Comments!

I appreciate them greatly!

Sounds really nice Ross, great job on this one. Melodies are nice and have a nice flow to them. A bit of a break here and there would be nice to have though.

I'm not fond of the drums, they seem a bit 'out of the mix' - like they don't merge that well with the rest of the tune. Perhaps they are a little dry or too compressed?

I'd also add more wetness to the first synth that comes along, it also feels a bit strange like the drums, although has a nice and interesting sound to it.

I also hear some distortion, like Mr Mystery says, you'll have to get that out before sending it out

Cheers,
Wim
