fatty fatness

If you eat 1 extra potato chip a day for 20 years you will gain 27 lbs.

Posted by DigiNut on Nov-24-2003 00:01:

What specifically does this mean:
a) That if you eat 1 a day now, and start eating 2 a day tomorrow, you'll gain 27 pounds? or
b) That if you eat 1 tomorrow, 2 the day after, 3 the day after, etc. etc., then you'll gain 27 pounds?

Just curious. I have a feeling that it's (b), which makes sense because you'd be eating 7300 chips a day by the end.

Posted by jdjd on Nov-24-2003 00:05:

nah, that 27 = 20*365*(# calories in a chip) / 3500 (calories in a pound of fat)

Posted by Orbax on Nov-24-2003 00:06:

I dont think that in the end you will be 27 lbs heavier on the scale, just that your gross weight gain will be 27

Posted by Orbax on Nov-24-2003 00:39:

i guess you could also say that by not eating that chip you could lose 54

what if you eat pizza, candy, and other junk plus drink soda and alcohol every sunday? because that's what i've been doing lately and although i don't seem to gain weight i'm wondering what the long term effects would be. thanks.

Posted by sash on Nov-24-2003 06:30:

don't worry about it until it's too late

Cholesterol and clogged arteries, basically. Sounds like your metabolism is too high to gain serious weight, but it's bad for your heart, for sure.

no worries, i was just an intern in the communications dept! i wrote a lot of internal newsletters and whatnot on the specifics of heart disease and a damn good tip card on why grilling is a great idea. and the best ways to grill food. sweat me.

or were you talking about grilling food.

Posted by Trancer-X on Nov-24-2003 09:13:

technically... if you ONLY ate one potato chip a day (and nothing else) you wouldn't live very long at all. I'd give you less than a month unless you're like David Blaine or something.

Barring Orbax's eccentric come-on, what exactly did that part of your post mean?

i always do this... i forget that few people outside the maryland area have heard the phrase. when you sweat someone, you think they're awesome and you want to be just like them. so when someone says, "sweat me," it's usually a joke thing that follows a dubious accomplishment. or one you're really damn proud of.

Oh lol... send me some tip cards, I think some of my roommates and friends could use your assistance.
