In desperate need of choirs for use in trance
where can i download some choir samples?
thx in advance
Mate this question gets asked a few times here and I don't think anyone has answered it yet. As far as getting free choir samples off the net, I'm not aware of anyplace (although I'm sure they do exist). Have you tried synthesizing your own. Most good synths are capable of making this type of sound.
try absynth

i have a bank of choirs for absynth which u can have if you want, they are all fuckin terrible lol. best way is to tweak a couple of them, u need about 5 oscillators on the go to get a decent sound, then just pull the mid eq out of them and then go from there, gimme your email address ill send you the .glo
I'll assume you're using Fruityloops or some other VSTable program...
First, get the Fruity Soundfont player. Or do whatever's necessary to get the program to deal with Soundfonts.
Next, go to hammersound.net You're bound to find what you're looking for. Try the Mellotron choirs, they're a bit tinny but I love 'em.
I was looking for a review on remix for spectrasonics atmosphere in the remix mag and came upon this
http://www.spectrasonics.net/symphonyvoices.html
Scott G of Deepsky stated that they used a lot of choir sounds from this cd to produce "In Silico." The retail price is $499
Voices of the Apocalypse, end of story.
Produced by Ilio. ilio.com
I get the fealing he's after free ones
Yeah, I kinda figured that one but he said he's desperate
Also, I posted just in case any1 reading was wondering how they came up with choir effect.
Cheers
Hey I have a soundfont thats kind of what you're after... better than nothing at least, just instant message me.
I hav some choir samples here. They are in a loopable wav format, so u will hav to loop them, do the envelopes, fx and these stuff.
If u still want them, message me
"Voices Of Apocalypse" is the keyword -> rest is your job

I don't know if this helps, but here is the way I usually do it when I'm looking for choir/vocal samples and it's free.
1. I go to the local library & check out some choir/vocal etc.cds
2. listen to the songs to see which part of the song I like.
3. Rip track or part of song with Audio grabber.
4. Open it in Cool Edit for editing.
5. Send it to fruity loops to mix it.
- Of course you can use different kinds of programs but this was just to illustrate. This way you can get cd quality samples and you decide exactly what the sample is going to sound like. Good luck!
