PNY

It's not specifically a trance event, but you may want to consider Planet New Year at the Cow Palace for a SF New Year extravaganza. it should be huge, off the hook, cheap, and it's all ages. check out coolworld.com for info. happy new year!

So far, it looks like Club 1015 (spundae) is the best event with The Scumfrog. Anyone been there?

ah 1015

1015 Folsom...now that used to be THE place.

Ya, I want to go to 1015 but the people we're going with said that the it's in a mad-sketchy neighborhood where people get mugged in the day... So I couldn't say much about that...

Posted by darz on Dec-17-2003 18:25:

yeah, the tenderloin is a sketchy part of SF, but i've been to 1015 tons of times and never had any problems. the worst that'll happen is you may have to give some homeless dude a couple bucks for "finding" a parking space for you. no big deal. seriously, look at the line-up! don't let the neighborhood scare you away from having a kick-a** NYE!!! i'd be all over it if i hadn't already bought tix to planet new year.

Posted by DaveT on Dec-17-2003 18:50:

1015 Folsom is in the SoMA (South of Market) district, not the Tenderloin.

It's not the best area for sure...but I've never been bothered with other than the typical homeless person asking for money.

my bad... i probably just killed my credibilty on that one, but i really have been there, and don't sweat the neighborhood, just go. the place is off the hook and NYE there should be insane! plus, i heard they just revamped the whole place recently. maybe dave t can say more on that. definitely worth checking out.

The revamped the place a couple years ago...some people think for the worse (there was an open air area at one point)...

Hopefully they've revamped the sound. It's been pretty bad the past few times I've gone....although it was awesome for AvB in October.

I will be in Los Angelas at the L.A Sports Arena for new year eve for TOGETHER AS ONE, It's gonna go off. With talent like Judge Jules, Fergie, John "00" Fleming, Richard Humpty Vission, Goldie, DJ Flush, Dillinja, and Lemon D just to name a few.

Posted by Lotus on Dec-22-2003 06:18:

I'd rather go to 1015 for New Year's than CoolWorld's PNY. Coolworld is really shady, and prices for their terrible line-ups are not worth it. Hip Hop and "Future Rock" at raves? NO!!!! Planet B sucks balls too.

I'll be there with my girlfriend. Took her to Monster Massive and she had a blast....and now we were going to TAO. I get a good laugh at all the candy ravers while dancing my ass off...and she just dances her ass off....gonna be a great time.

As for San Francisco...yeah, the Coolworld lineup is craappp. Coolworld has been HORRIBLE at organizing stuff lately. I hope they do a good job with the Ultra party in Miami in March (I am sure the lineup will be great considering every DJ imagineable will be in Miami at the time, but more worried about the other areas that need organizing).
