This job seems somewhat less than mindless ...

My dad still maintains contacts within the gov't so he gets heads up on job opportunities and the such ... anyway, he just forwarded me this job opening:

8. SAIC - Entry-Level National Security Analyst
The Special Weapons Programs and Analysis Division (the Nuclear and WMD Planning and Response Department) of SAIC and its parent organizations support the U.S. Government examining critical issues affecting U.S. national security. From offices in McLean, Virginia, our organization conducts a broad range of sponsored and independent research. Current projects under DoD contracts involve analysis of programs and problems related to U.S. nuclear weapons, counter-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (WMD), strategic planning for U.S. national security, including policies, plans and technical training for emergency response to terrorist activities as a part of homeland security, and the political, economic, operational and technical aspects of U.S. and North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) decisions concerning nuclear weapons. We believe that we have a vibrant organization making significant contributions to national defense. Seems interesting enough ... not exactly my field, but I figured that maybe I can play up my economics degree, policy/history classes, and submit my resume for the hell of it

I wonder if I'd have to resign as vice-president ...

hey occrider when you get the job, be sure you let me know... I'm always looking for more people on the inside in the DoD espeically regarding such issues to keep and provide an eye on the information that might be valuable to my country

then comes, say, Senior Level NSA,
then, oh I don't know, say, National Security Advisor,
and then you'll probably tell us that somehow, someway, YOU'RE THE FREAKIN' VICE PRESIDENT!!!!!!!!!

So basically the job entails looking at and reporting false information to the public, and trying to get everyone in such a state that they won't even go outside their house without a shotgun and chemical suit and mask. Then you'll attempt to take away their civil liberties slowly but surely and be seduced by such small benefits as a 401K plan, a 25 year retirement plan, and a mediocre retirement pay. Then you'll undoubtedly subject yourself to all the normal propaganda and spread the word, and get this. Actually truely believe it and prepare for the next "terrorist" attack with "WMD". Hell you might even get a chance to make it where we'd end up having martial law when the "terrorist threat" gets to high and we think we need large weapons and soldiers in the streets enforcing curfews and whatnot. Shit, you'll be part of the history books just like the SS.

Oh really? Just like the SS? So who are the substitutes for the SA? What compromise was rendered to the wehrmacht? How was Hindenberg appeased? I'm anxiously awaiting some kind of historicaly reference/correlation to 1933 so please let me know!!!
