Saturday July 21st

Wuz up all,
Name's Mike have used this site for a while and have read the forums frequently. Recently moved here from Calgary and have been working every weekend since. Was gonna go to WEMF but now I have to work friday and sunday. So I have saturday off. I want to go to the guvernment on saturday, but have no one to go with =(. Wondering if this is a place to NOT go alone or what. I really really want to go tho like real bad. I saw mark oliver in Calgary when he opened for Judge Jules and just fukin loved his style and selection.

Just make sure you spike your hair, wear tight black pants, no shirt and grab girls asses all night and you will be sure to fit in at the Guvernment! lol! Kidding.... Like any party/club night you should go with someone, just in case.

Sorry dude, Guvernment sucks ass. I'm never going again... I got $40 teefed out my wallet by the security guards, ppl are coked up on insane amounts of drugs, and there's gino's galore. It's only good music if there's a featured DJ or something - I personally dont like Mark Oliver... Anyways, I'd go to a smaller more underground place if you're going alone (Area51,Metropolis)

Alternatives to Guverment

The only time I've had a blast at the Guv was when I went with a big friendly group of people. It's NOT the place to go on your own. You're unlikely to meet people, not a friendly place. I don't know if Mark Oliver is still spinning there Saturdays. Is he? Maybe it was just an urban myth.

There are other places to try in Toronto...System, Turbo for biggish venues...Area 51, Club E28 for smaller, underground vibes.
