Eight Ball Records Closed

Sorry if this might be old news, but I just went down there today and saw that there is nothimg left of the store. Talked to a guy that used to work there, he said they still might consider doing an online store, but will no longer have a retail one. Pretty sad, cuz this was my favorite of the few record stores in nyc. Guess I have to go back to Satellite now.

uh wtf?

where you talking about another and meant to say now you'll have to go to Sat records instead of where you went originally ?

I was at Sat records couple weeks ago and the place seemed ok... still in the wonderful kitchen equipment district of boweryyyy st.

Rebel Rebel on Bleeker
Sonic Groove on Carmine off of Bleeker
Vinyl Market in the East Village

while not on par with Satellite, they're solid shops for EDM

(hopefully they're still open as I haven't visited them in ages...)

i bought my first record @ 8ball...

picked up lotsa classics there over the years. but their trance has been going down since the past year tho. not too surprised that they closed. it is really sad too see all these record stores have trouble. *sigh...

You forget Deca Dance which is just a walk from Satellite.

Pretty small store with a pretty small selection, but what they have is pretty good usually new stuff and the majority of it is trance.

i thought that eightball was the absolute worst shop ever for internet/phone orders, the staff was pretty cool while in the store but over the phone were clueless...also, their website said so many records were in stock but really weren't....like SPARKLES, i spent so many days excited for that to come! it never did....
