today is a sad day.

i think this post tells us all the truth about nye and boxing day and is sadly the final nail in the coffin as far at GATEcrasher is concernd.

so now its all about the small nights nights growing and cultivating a loyal following a'la goodgreef. step in Pause.

Any plans to go on weekends Ed?... after all theres a big gap in sheffield now for decent tunage.

Just cos nye has been cancelled does that really mean GC is dead tho? Perhaps they are too determined to make a profit to pull s11dj out of gc1 and are hard pushed to find a decent venue ?

A lot of ppl seemingly upset actually appear to want gc to die away ..

gatecrasher died about March time, just no-one had the heart to actually pull the life-support machine till now

well as u guys have mentioned, all the superclubs are slowly dying doing the same old shit. As for weekend clubbing, its just a bit too big for us, and far too fierce of a competition.

What were trying to do is not to segregate the music market, hence our aim to include dif genres of music and not just trance, inviting dif kinds of ppl to enjoy the nights we hold. Dont get me wrong, im a big fan of trance etc, but have come to realise that it wont work with just a trance night, esp with it being on a thursday night once a month.

Just hoping to get as much support as possible, as we would like to take this to a weekend, possibly on a friday.

well at least i took part in Crasher London 90% of the time, and i'm finally going to a GC NEC event. I'm just sad that i haven't been to GC1 for a Crasher night

right here's the official score... it's from a very reliable source who works at GC and who has absolutely no reason to wanna cause rumours or owt. The information matches up with everything we already know :

1) This NEC will be the last ever Crasher @ NEC

2) NYE is not going ahead because Leeds Town Hall has a fucked floor and they can't find another venue. They don't wanna use the Republic because S1 1DJ will raise a fuckload more money (about 3x more I've been told separately) than Crasher would.

3) There are NO monthly Crasher events planned for the Republic next year.

4) Crasher @ Heaven will continue as normal.

5) There will be more Crasher @ Passion events next year.
