Question about 'Love from Humboldt'

Does anyone know the story behind the Gabriel and Dresden remix of Duncan Sheik - On a High? Or is there a story? Perhaps Dave could clear this up for me

Was just wondering since I was driving on the Brooklyn Queens Expressway today and saw an exit for Humboldt street and just got me wondering why they choose to entitle their remix Love From Humboldt...

Just random thoughts

when will you people learn.... G&D are NOT going to be associating there music in ANY way on any medium with drugs/illict usage. ATRC was said to be about when you peak on E but no, dresden did not say that. please, just leave it alone and enjoy the tunes.

maybe it's a german topographic connection -- dresden-humboldt

Owned, owned, and ... wait, I forgot one more thing -

Owned.

Just because you don't agree with drugs doesn't mean you can make up facts against them.

And the song 'Use only the Drugs'.

Posted by conk on Nov-28-2003 19:11:

Yeah, he's not gonna talk about it on a national radio but why not here? Exactly.

song is called on a high, and i am like 99% sure they are refering to humbolte california which does have very good greens. i am sure this remix has something to do with that

yes i would be considered wrong, but i only posted where i had based my opinions on just for the sake of clarity and because someone else assumed i had made it up out from my own ideas. i wasnt trying to prove myself right in anyway, just pointing out where i got my information.

in that case, your opinions were wrong, do proper research first, then make an opinion. dont base what they say on one song to be true for all songs, especially when its posted here on the forums. hehe

Posted by SuperFarStucker on Nov-28-2003 22:32:

Yeah.. I had to laugh too, and btw if you would have read my post (the one dave was responding too) you would see that you were completely wrong to assume your back-asswards stance. Besides, whats wrong with talking about drugs on dutch nat'l radio.. aren't they like the #1 MDMA manufacturer on this planet (only half kidding of course)

and what we learn from this topic is dont make comments on subjects we dont know about!

what a fuc#ing straight-edger!!

It actually does refer to the fact that the song is called "On a High" and humboldt county in California has the best green. Watch the movie "Carwash" w/ Snoop & Dre and when Snoop buys green from 'Tommy Chong' he refers to Humboldt.

As far as any other song from G&D I cant confirm. But I do remember Dave saying in a exact similar post a while back thats how the name came about.
