Review: Freeland & Infusion

omg...what monkey is doin....

infusion actually rawked...PERIOD!!!

i thought they would really suck playing prog in between 2 breaks djs but they played mostly breaks tracks and fuckin RAWKED

THANK GOD I WENT FOR THIS PARTY

PS. I DONT LIKE HOW FREELAND TEASED US WITH "WE WANT YOUR SOUL"

I got there really late ... but from what I heard, Freeland was sketchy but Infusion stole the show! I heard the CLUB rammed and ppl were having nuff fun.

Theory Review : Sound system was NUTZ, the mixer had to taped down and a CDJ fell off the DJ setup. That's how LOUD the bass was ... Dillinja approved sound system.

Bad thing was ... Dillinja & Lemon D missed their flight and they were almost 3 hrs late.

Mad Props to John for the guestlist hookup!

Review: Wasn't feeling either K-Swift or Infusion's set. Don't get me wrong.. Both of them put out quality sets, but they were just to progressive for me (good for grovin, bad for dancin .
When Freeland came on, things changed for the best, hit set was awesome! Flawless mixing (except when he stopped the record mid-track :P.. *doh*), track selection was one of the most diverse i have heard in a long time. Examples: marilyn manson (it was good!!), miscellaneous old school hip hop, good bit of alternative-rock-breaks, classic breaks (bucci bag ), etc. I was front row for most of freeland's set, and he threw out great vibes throughout, constantly pumping up the crowd.
Dave Saddler and Collin "big league" Chu finished up the night. They brought the quality tracks like normal. Chu's second track was Kill Bill - Theme Song!!! *love it*. The night ended on a good vibe.
Good to see a lot of TA's out, although i only got to talk to a few: E2IKI3L, Crazedcanuck, and i did manage to spy Natalie out there too (sorry i didn't say hi :P)

Don't know why I'm awake so friggin' early, but man, are my legs sore.................... mega good time last night though! Don't know breaks too well yet, and was a little apprehensive about going last night, but it was SO much fun and SO worth it!!!!!!! It's a whole new way of dancing for me... I actually preferred Infusion's energy to Adam Freeland's, but was dancing 'til I got home at 5:00 a.m. nevertheless Good to hear some old tunes again too - Nirvana's Nevermind, Beastie Boys' Fight for your right to party, and lots of others that escape me right now.... and Deko-ze was killing it in the backroom/lounge from the little bit that I heard, as always, but still way too hot!

Shout-outs to: charmscars (and sis Brynne), MattVagrant, crazedcanuck, gqstyles, Max_cued, tatgirl + Graham, dallastar, Muff2K, LKD, drewfactor, Vinder!, J_spot, Form+Function + Heidi, Shryer + jenna_rae (hope you're feeling better!) and sorry I missed you E2EK1EL - sounds like you had fun @ Dillinja! Is that everyone? Hope so... must...get...back...to...bed...

i've heard live sets from them before, but i think something different happened last night, it was the crowd.. infusion said so themselves, you coudl tell they were feeding off our energy. sure freeland was awesome too, but infusion really stole the show last night.

had a great time, thanks to john for g-list and ryanparks for getting us into VIP room

Went out with some buddies b4 so i got there really late...couldn't take advantage of the guestlist but thanks to John for hooking that up as always. Freeland was NUTS!!!!!! I have to say whats up one of these days, damn it...

They had me bumpin, and for a few songs even sounded like Faithless (this was Nats observation, I just agree)

hmmm it was really odd that the most populated room was teh main room and the otehrs hardly had a few people even at 3/4 am....but wat was fucked up is that 3/4 of hte people out in teh main room didnt know how the fuck they had to dance to breaks...it was like they were just learning how to walk or something

If i had a beer right now for every time freeland threw in a piece of WWYS, i would be way too drunk...

he spun with 3 tables and a sampler/cd player and he had WWYS on one table the whole time....

but anyways...

i had a good time

wow what an incredible night! Infusion blew me away. I wanted to stay for more of freeland but after that 3rd red bull, my stomach was starting to eat itself. Freelnad's set (the part that i heard) was fun, but it paled in comparison to infusion. I don't think I've danced that much in a night out in a long time.

Everyone's right -- Infusion DEFINITELY stole the show last night! (Did they do 3 encores? )

I've never seen the place more charged up before. It was too sweet! (Brynne and Tara; you guys really know how to rip up a floor :P )

I also checked out Deko-ze in the Lounge (Great setup btw with the Trees stuff). He's SO underrated! What a wicked DJ.

To all you TA's that I haven't yet met out there, WTF? I'll have to get introduced sometime. (I did finally meet one other -- CrazedCanuck. Nice to see ya again dude!)

When Infusion's back in town, I'm definitely there again! FO SHO!

Since others are doin' shoutouts, I might as well too:

Big ups to Erika, Tara, Matt, Brynne, Greg, Rob, Boris (who's not a TA yet don't think), Vinder (<- knows how to have fun!), and uhh Marg??? Where were you last night? (Yep, some of us missed ya! I think LKD wouldn't even miss a limb if he lost one )

Well now that I'm a awake its time to post a review.
I arrived at System and K-Swing was spinning. I got right into the music once I got in there. She has alot of skills, great mixing and choice of tracks!!!
heard tracks like:
Atlas - Compass Error (Hisham's break mix)
Professor Okku - Word Unpsoken (Luke Chable remix)
Sasha - In A State (DFA remix) <-- Freeland played it also
K-Swing really got me pumped up and wanting mooooore!

Then Infusion came on, and I was looking foward to seeing them for the longest time. These guys are the freakin Kings! They put on such an awsome show of a mix of prog & breaks with some really impresive equipment. I really didn't recongnize too many tracks, they played a lot of new stuff which was amazing! (and the bass lines ) These guys are truly great musicians.

After Infusion played those kick ass encores, Adam Freeland came up to the decks, and at this point I was already in heaven. Freeland just totally ROCKED the house with his craaazy tunes and flawless mixing with a shit load of equipment! Some really great tracks like:
Ils - Music (Evil Nine remix)
We Want Your Soul
Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit <-- When he played the original it really reminded me of the good ol' days!
I'm really forgeting some other tunes I heard, but this is a tracklist I have to find!

This party goes down for one of the best of the year! I had a kick ass time.

man, when i was on my mission, i was thinking about borrowing some of that paper mache!

Last night I will never forget, the night that I lost my breaks virginity Bit upset about the guestlist ordeal, but I'm glad I did spend the extra cash to go to this party. Freeland was good, he was off last night, but still rocked the place, but you must admit he certainly wasn't at his best. Infusion absolutely destroyed the place. Unbelievable. I wonder if the question in the interview asking them why their sets are so boring had any influence on their set last night. Fantastic live performance. And K-Swing... SET OF THE NIGHT!!! Her mixing was spot on, awesome track selection, so much respect... I was about to go up to her and congradulate her saying how her set was better than Freeland's.

Quote of the night: LKD screaming at Freeland when he first took the decks "We want your soul!! We want your fucking soul!!"
