Coming from a raging heterosexual I can say that I actually find this show entertaining.

I wish I could have 5 gay dudes come into my apartment and buy me sweet furniture and nice new clothes.

Posted by crchingtiger on Nov-30-2003 06:24:

this show rules...

some of my best friends are gay and they're fucking hilarious...
one of the only things bringing a smile to my face these days....

the fact of the matter is
that any 5 morons gay or straight can make a guy look great when ur given a budget of that size

I think it's fantastic myself, hopefully it will go some way to downgrading the levels of homophobia that exist in the world today.

Posted by sym on Nov-30-2003 10:11:

I saw the south park episode on this. I didn't know it was a real show. I have no problem with being homosexual but you have admit it's a bit of a strange idea. What channel is this on anyway?

One word: zhoosh

hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

That show is hilarious....i find it quite entertaining

It doesn't comare to Survivor or Amazing Race. Those are my two favourite reality TV shows. I am a big fan or reality TV.

Posted by Fast Turtle on Nov-30-2003 14:32:

Honestly, I don't like it, and I think it only makes things worse for homosexuals rather than promoting tolerance.
It reinforces almost all the stereotypes for gay men out there. I know a whole lot of gay guys who really don't talk/act anything like that at all.
Further, why is it okay to base a show on stereotypes like this anyway? If they had a show that had white guys being taught how to carjack, eat fried chicken, and sell crack in brooklyn by a bunch of black guys, or a show where buck toothed asians helped tutor americans and get them higher grades on their math tests, don't you think there'd be some objections raised by people?
Not that I can exactly speak for the whole gay community because I'm not, though I am trans and bi.

ah yeah, the episode where all the guys became metrosexuals except mr. garrison. freaking hilarious.

what was even more funny was when I ofund out that there actually is a term called metrosexual. what have we come to.

i love this show. even my dad watches queer eye. freaking hilarious.

as for making things worse for gay men...... i don't think so. it does reinforce some stereotypes about gay men but so what. it says they know how to cook, decorate, dress well, and groom themselves. whats so bad about that. not all gay men are like the fab 5 but then again not all str8 guys are like the ones on the show.

the five guys on the show seem to enjoy it, and the str8 guy getting the make over looks happy, whats the problem?

*coughcough* Though, I'm not a transvestite, rather transsexual, but they're unfortunately usually grouped into the same category. :/
(bleh, to clarify a bit -- a tranvestite is someone who dresses up on occasion as the opposite gender for fun or sexual gratification (AKA crossdresser). A transsexual is someone who believes they are the wrong gender and seeks various biochemical treatments to reverse it. They wish to live all the time as the gender opposite the one they were given at birth. I usually always specify my gender as female, but there's always someone out there who bugs out and says, "OMG U USED TO BE A GUY U LIAR!", so I mention it out of consideration...)

Well, even positive stereotypes are bad, in my opinion, as they can make people have prior expectations of your behaviour and consequently become upset with you when you do not conform to them. Even positive stereotypes are restricting.

Have you heard of the new gang for Latin Gays??? It's called Los Homos Locos... Their signature "hit" is a drive-by redecorating...

Did you hear about the US Supreme court has ruled that gays should be now called Anal-Americans?

j/k... take no offense. but if you do... YOU'RE GAY!

i don't think it will. In fact, it will widen the GAP between homo- and heretrosexual people even more by segregating them. it reinforces stereotypes and that is wrong.

Posted by mentalbarter on Dec-02-2003 16:27:

had enough of gay people making a big thing about the fact that they are gay
why do they think they get so much homophobic abuse
its not like heterosexual people have to make a big deal about being normal, theres no fucking straight eye for the queer guy program for instance
ok, your allowed to be gay (i say so)
but i dont want to know about it and nor does the rest of the world
