Smiley DJ Winamp is the best DJ

ok, so im here writting a paper about hypnosis (which is a bitch!) and i got winamp running, and it was playing Placibo - Special K (timo Maas remix) and faded slowly to Maas Attack. now i dont know bout yalls winamp, but i downloaded a new version cause i got my new laptop, but this one fades the music and mixes it with the other son.

this had to be the best transition iv heard ( not form a dj but from the computer)

has anything like this happened to yall?\

i just though it was cool and decided to share

Smiley DJ same with sonique2

yeah, Sonique is launching the beta version of Sonique2 on December 3 but the alpha version I'm runnin has the same ability to crossfade tracks. I've had some pretty cool moments when it was like "whoa...hey, that was a good mix!"
It doesn't beat match tho...(that would be cool)
You should consider playing your choons on AtomixMp3... it does both...nothing cooler than a beatmatchin' crossfadin' mp3playin' um.. player.

its not exactly hard to fade

Posted by Evil_Gnome on Dec-01-2003 02:24:

Yeah winamp has had that feature since version 3. Its pretty cool.

Posted by nchs09 on Dec-01-2003 02:26:

well i know its not hard to fade...but this fade was perfect, the beats matched, and it.... i dunno it was perfect!

i keep putting those 2 songs..and it sounds perfect. im impressed

Old news. I have my moments with it, though.

I find that the x-fading sounds mostly... terrible. Cold cuts from one track to another for this monkey ^^

Party Hat

Winamp Crossfader > Tiesto

Cross-fading is nothing new.... you just got lucky that the two songs it cross-faded actually sounded good while it happened. Congratulations I guess.

Winamp 3 is crap as far as I'm concerned. 2.91 is still my player of choise. Although I have high hopes for Sonique2 But if you want mixing, try BPM Studio Profi...

Damn...have Tiesto's mixing abilities REALLY reached the absolute bottom, and started to dig? I had heard a Tiesto set with bad mixing a while ago, and had thought it had

Maybe. But after they developed Winamp3 there was still a huge demand for Winamp2. So they still continue to develop Winamp2 besides Winamp3. The currend Winamp versions are 2.91 released 04-17-2003 and Winamp 3.0 released 12-18-2002

Personally, I prefer Winamp 2.91 above 3.0

2.91 all the way baby.

I'm running 2.91. Can you please tell me where the option is? I would like to enable it.

Uh, no - I had it way before 3. It was 2.91 that was released after 3.
