It does take a great deal of military intelligence to come up with effective and entertaining weapons , such as this one developed by Raytheon.

i think my attempt at dark humor has been completely missed.....
its a video of stupid american soldiers running over an iraqi mans car because they were stealing wood....

did anyone actually watch it??

BTW, PBS has some excellent news and documentary programs like 'Frontline' (which this is a clip of), 'Mcneil Lehrer News Hour,' and 'Now' with Bill Moyers.

They are, for the most part, the only news programs free of corporate hegemony, thus they can report in an honest and fair way that an NBC, ABC, or FOX simply cannot.

Look, I had trouble understanding your dark humor, as I really did find that the military is intelligent. And I was extremely happy to see they are and willing to use brutal tactics like these in Iraq. If the US military would have ceded to prodigal thought like yours, the politically correct mindset, order would be lost and chaos would no doubt ensure.

The military is very smart, right now you have a society (the Iraqis) with a large segment that refuses to follow the laws willfully. The only solution then to enforcing the laws is to increase brutality of punishment.

The US simply does not have enough resources to "police" the entirety of Iraq, so it can not stop all looters. Yet if one were say to deprive another of something very valuable, such as their car, and or livelihood as punishment to even the relatively minor offense (stealing wood) then this would do much to deter others from pursuing such endevaours and ceeding their will to co-operation with the law.

If the USA refuses to establish law and order - which at this point can only be done with brutality, then I fear you will have the rise of many war/drug lords in Iraq who ARE willing to use brutality to achieve a type of unlawful order of their own (as is seen in many third world countries, or ghettos).

maybe our standards of intelligence differ but that soldier sounded like a dumb mucho ogre to me.....What do u expect from guys that are recruited from the lower ranks of highschool...

but if you say they are intelligent im sure they are....

Intelligence has little to do about someone's education, your confusing that with knowledge. Regardless you titled it military intelligence, not "that specific soldier who decided to tank over a car's intelligence", and so I was addressing the policy of bruality the military is taking on whether it is "intelligent" or not.

If you think the current situation is chatoic then wait till US forces pull out, then guess what your going to achieve more chaos and more brutality then you have ever imagined. There is not "chaos" now, by and large there is order with interruptions. People have stopped looting, stealing, and roaming around the streets with guns for the most part.

I would also garuntee you that the quickest and surest way to end the current reign of "chaos" is to increase American brutality. If Americans are to torture terrorist collaborators, kill those related to them, and so forth I am sure the Iraqi insurgents would wisen up real quick and reconsider their purpose. The USA military should act "mafia style" towards the terrorists in their approach. This would be brutal and inhuman in the short run yes, but in the long run it would create a lawful ordered society which is more humane then any of the status quo.

And I am extremely happy because I realize the USA at least in this instance is willing to commit to certain levels to achieve the far reaching goals of securing a ordered, lawful, and prosperous Iraq, for the future.
Perhaps your politcally correct mind can't comprehend this, the necessity of brtuality to achieve good means, but let me just tell you that your politically correct ways have been tried in nation buildings since after the WWII era, it has failed everywhere it has been tried, whether Africa, South America, or the Balkans.

Its time to grow up and move to realisim, not dreams which create more misery because we refuse to wake up to the reality.

simple question that people with morals would ask themselves: what if it was you? But maybe its to much for your "might is right" bullshit theory

if it was me, id want to blow up the next tank i saw, which is exactly whats happening....

first its not a "might is right" theory its a "might makes right" theory, subtle but very different. Basically you can get anyone to whatever you want with enough might, however I believe one should only do this when necessiary and only for justice.

now if it was me I would be more angry with myself for being so stupid to think I could and should steal something that did not belong to me. Then my next thought would be damn, how am I going to get out of this one.. I better get a job right quick!

Only as an after thought would I be angry at American arrogance.

But perhaps I am different then most people as I understand actions have consequences, and humans have responsibilities.

Of course if it was not my car, I would probably be laughing

All American citizens should have nothing but the most respect for our Military personel. Why? I'll tell you why, They protect us every single day. They stand up for us, they are fighting terrorism.
They are brave individuals.

The military faught,and continues to fight for our rights. Without them, We wouldn't have an America.


So if you want to continue making asinine comments, Go right on ahead. But,just remeber,It will come back on you. 10 fold.
I pray and hope it does.
