quick question

how can u find out if a picture from the internet is copywritten?

Posted by Mebot on Dec-02-2003 23:33:

some pictures you cant right click and save-as.

thats how you know THOSE pics are copyrighted.

as for all other pics, usually theres a disclaimer on the webpage that sez all the pics are copyrighted

Usually there will be a disclaimer on the site that says that all site content is.

Why would you even want to? Anyone can just steal it by taking a screenshot or even steal the link by viewing the source of the page in a text editor.

my bf is a photographer and of course he wants to be able to host his pics online to be able to market himself to people but he doesnt want to share them with people not paying for his photography services. a screenshot wont be as high resolution as the photos he takes.

Watermarking would be a better idea. Disabling the right-click is just to easy to get around...

No matter what way pictures are protected, it is ALWAYS possible to copy them. Better just to mark them in some way...

It's always possible to get whatever is shown. If you show the full size pic, then I can get the full size pic...

See here for an article about disabling right-clicks
