Paul Van Dyk - Reflections
I just bought Paul Van Dyk's new cd reflections, but it isnt what i thought it would be. With him being the 2nd best DJ on this site, hes songs arnt really that trancy( unless my definition of trance is different)
Does this cd get better the more you listen to it because atm the cd isnt very appealing to me.
Whats your thoughts?
since ur in training i dont blaim u for not using the search button..but i really hope not every single new ta who buys the album will come and tell how dissapointed he is.
SaM there are many styles within trance .. maybe PvDs not yours. I liked the album, think there are many good songs there, f. eks. Time Of Our Lives, Knowledge, Connected and my personal favourite Nothing But You. give it another listen. yeah its not an epic album .. but a good album .. IMO
words of wisdom
Yeah, reflections isn't his best, so check out his other albums you might like those better. Btw, PvD isn't the 2nd best DJ on this site he's the 2nd best DJ in the world (although people like myself would argue differently)
It's all down to preference, if everyone liked the same artists and tracks it would be dull!
There were a couple tracks I liked, but overall like yourself I wasn't impressed. For me, there is nothing like a live PVD set. Grab some of those and you'll like what you hear.
I've asked this before, and because I like to be annoying, I'll ask it again:
WHERE THE HELL IS THE LP?!?!?!?!
you dont need the LP, all the best songs you can get as singles 12"s
^^Good call. Yea, I think there are definitely a few of these posts now... lol
i honestly think that this is the album of the year as well as PvD's
greatest artist album ever! he blends so many amazing styles
together (e.g., trance, rock, hip-hop, trip-hop, breaks, house,
downtempo, etc.), and does a MIGHTY DAMN fine job of it!
i can understand the logic of those of you who purchased this
cd and expected to hear another all-out anthemic 'trance'
album (e.g., OTAB and TPOD) would be dissapointed, but
trust me, give this album another listen, and i gurantee that
about 85% of you will have different feelings towards it. the
majority need to venture off into diff. styles of music and not
just confine themselves to one genre. just listen to the track
'that's life,' where PvD and John McDaid state:

| Life isn't made so everything's right, life isn't made so everything's bright, life isn't made so there's always light... but that is alright. Life isn't made like you and i, life does not always mean to cry... sometimes we wonder what's the meaning of... (a million more times), life. |

bad, that's life!
I did, thanks...
