The Oasis : Je suis dégouté/I am disgusted
First of all i'm not goin' to write the same thing in english . If you don't understand french that's not my problem , i am in a fucking bad mood right now.
im gonna write this in english if its alright with fastdjmp3
i guess u guys were right....they searched us as if we were cubans trying to come into the US! but everyone expected it because they warned everyone before hand! so it was no surprise..and they if they search one person like that, they have to do the same to everyone so I didn't feel offended. I was happy there wasn't a lineup of dealers saying "speed / x" when i walked in...so i guess the security did their jobs....
as for the candy kids....im sorry but i didnt see many.. possibly the hottest girls I have ever seen at a montreal rave however as i expected, there were ginos/ginas or clubbers but i expected more of those also because of oakenfold.
and as for the music....genie was pretty good...i give him a 7/10...oakenfold spun a sick set of awesome trance...if u heard him at sona in march and at oasis last year, you would have to agree that this was by far his best set in montreal..i give him a 9.5/10..nivoc was good also but had some mixing problems sometimes...XL was bangin and i enjoyed him for once and for those who heard lafleche til 12:00 p.m like me...you would have to say, it was a typical hard early morning set as usual....all in all i loved oasis and i thought 514 did a great job considering they planned it in 3 weeks....hey guys....oakie showed up at 2:00 am!! that was the most impressive part of the nite!
Sorry guys for last time but i was in a pissed off mood . What did Oakenfold play exactly (give me names please) ? Tiga as a mixer sucks , i don't know how to explain that , the only good thing he played was at 11:05 , i don't know the name of the song . I'll give Tiga 5/10 while Génie 4/10 (he's not the Genie who played last time @ Sona) . By the way i am one of the first 30 persons who entered , i was wearing a white Nike pant , and a black adidas t-shirt . I was sitting in front of the screen watching people dancing and writing in my memo block . Did you see me ?
As a mixer, Tiga is far from sucking. I was at Sona when he did the no headphone gig. That was amazing. If you don't appreciate techno than it is understandable, but I didn't hear any bad mixes (something that I can't say is true for Mr Oakenfold)
What was wrong with Genie?, the start of his set was a bit more techish, but slowly he got to more and more progressive stuff, dropping tracks like Bedrock - Voices. I was really into it and was dancing all along.
I must disagree with delstar about oakenfold, all I found that Oakenfold did was drop big track after big track, especially at the end of his set. He is NOT in the same league as say Paul Van Dyk or Tiesto, who are truely trance DJs. Not
I think I've said this before, but I wouldn't mind seeing Oakenfold again, provided he was playing for a home crowd, he would show his real talent there instead of playing what people want to hear, beacuse honnestly I was sick of hearing some of the tracks that he spun (although the crowd went *WILD* for CJ Bolland's - The Prophet)sorta like Max Graham must play different away from town than he does at Sona or Atomic.
The crowd wasn't great, when I saw tiesto or pvd earlier this year, when they both dropped Das Glockenspiel by Shiller, the crowd was much more into it. At Oasis, the crowd didn't really budge.
Trance has not invaded Montreal, which is a good thing is a way.. since Montreal can be seen as different as the rest of the USA.
I'm also very happy about the increased no drug security, no dealers (that I saw), and less E trippers at 3am (big change from last year @ Oasis if anyoen remembers!)
I also was really impressed by the visuals that 514 did, things like the star wars spaceships to scenes from Planet of the apes. They must of had a shit load of stock footage, it never repeated itself all night.
I probably could of stayed later, I left at 8am, but my friends were tired (no drugs and all!)..
was anyone able to sneak in drugs??
ya....it was easy...
great montreal E
There were a lot of cock-suckers smoking weed infront of me ...

there was BARELY ANY pot at that rave.. usually I come out of the rave full of that stench. But there was like BARELY ZERO pot there.. the drug situation was top notch, I was amazed!
delstar: where'd you hide your E.. did you stick it far up your ass?
sylphin:
i yook half before i got in....then the rest was in the elastic of my track pants....u had to be sneaky
it was the only way
hmmm... Tend to disagree, Oakey's set was pretty much his standard stuff nowadays (it was very similar to Live @ Moscow set from 31/06/01), as well as mixes earlier this year... Moreover, I suppose the guy was tired, being at Area One in Detroit just few hours before his montreal appearance... But anyway... Some old classics were spun, like Animal (Lost It Dot Com), Meet Her At Love Parade (Da Hool), etc, together with the popular hits of the moment, specifically the second hour of his set.. Anyway, I seen him spin worse, hence found his performance to be good...
As for the others... Well, they are different caliber kinda... Actually, imho, Tiga spinned BETTER than I expected, while I agree that Genie somewhat disapointed. Also was it just me, or Nivoc actually had hard time mixing his stuff? I was disapointed by him..
Anyway... Back to oakey, ne1 who's been there knows the name of the track (or the full listing) that he spinned just before PPK - Resurrection?? Don't quite remember hearing it anywhere before... ;(
Can someone tell us what Oakie played exactly ?
