x-box vs ps2

i'm in the market for a new console, and was too lazy to search, so i created this thread.

I dont care a whole lot, i just want the games to look nice, run like they're supposed to, and have long enough cables (or extensions) available.

But I dunno..

I generally like the xbox but see some games on the ps2 that I'd really like to play, and play them online (Socom II for example). The only problem with the xbox live thing is you have to pay for it. Although you can always use those two month free things.
If I were to start out again though I'd stick with the X-Box simply because of the types of games I like to play and I'm a graphics nerd.

Cables and extensions.. how long do you need them to be? For the controllers? What? Cause they have wireless controllers for the xbox.

The X-Box has some pretty sweet deals going on right now so if you want one now or right after christmas would be the time to buy one I suppose...

get a PS2 for Grand theft auto if your gonna be sitting around playing by yourself all the time

get an xbox for halo if your gonna have friends over and will be playing with them

With the PS2 you get DVD & internet connectivity for free. Xbox you have to pay for both to get them to work (which is quite bullshit to me). To get your XBox to do that you'd be spending at least $260 where PS2 you get it for $200 w/ a game.

XBox only has about a handful of GOOD games. PS2 has at least 20-30 GOOD games. Yes, the XBox is more powerful and has a better DVD player but if you want better gameplay go with a PS2.

If you're a wanna-be 1337 h4x0r get an XBox, if you're a gamer get a PS2.

i have an xbox and have 65 games, never paid for one of them. safe as fuck

you can flash fxp DIVX movies (porn) to ur xbox HD and watch them on ut tv, you can send mp3s and shit like that too. speeds are leet

on top of that you can install a 120 gig HD in the xbox

Meaning you get the broadband adapter and you just plug your net in and you're connected. They don't give you free internet service. To use the internet on XBox you have to pay like $30 extra for the XBox Live! kit. Micro$oft just wants your money.

well if u want a machine that purely shows graphics, then get xbox as its obviously the more powerful machine. if ur planning on actually playing the games though, get a ps2.

oh and another point is that the xbox controller is complete and utter shite. the size is just pointless, the diamond shape of the buttons is pointless. the small version is a improvement, but the black and white buttons are so arckwardly placed, that they are also pointless.

halo... one of the most overated games ever, whats so fucking good about it? for a machine thats so powerful, it feels so sluggish and unresponsive. u want fps? stick with the pc.
