internet explorer problem loading pics.

is something wrong with my internet explorer or perhaps my internet service? periodically IE will load my webpages and all the text that's on the page but it refuses to load any of the pics, or only a handful of pics?

can somebody please help me out?

did you check the 'internet options' under 'tools'? in the advanced there should be a place where you can check or uncheck certain things, i think one of those things are "images"

my IE can't download, its a fuckin prick. Cant seem to fix it either

Do you get the little red crosses?

here's your problem

thanks for the heads up hooknife, now get back on the short yellow bus and stfu.

There are no red x's, it's just a blank where the pictues are supposed to be (appears to be permanently loading) I'm not on dial up, i have cable internet. I dunno what the hell is wrong with my computer, it's not a full cache ( i emptied it to be sure).

running the latest anti-virus? you wouldnt believe the number of hacks on these boards who never heard it.

sometimes, if the pic is missing on target site, it obviously won't load on your box. What many people don't realize is that all the content from the website, when you view it is sent to your machine. If some appears and some does not, it could be:

a)problem with the site
b)problem with your connection
c)configuration setting
d)program required to execute the image is missing

If you havn't rebooted, do that
Check under Tools>Internet options>Advanced>Multimedia make sure 'show pictures' and 'show image placeholders' is checked.
'show image placeholders' shows where the images *should* go

If it's still being a bitch try upgrading to the latest Internet Explorer.

To fix your problem, Go to Tools >> internet options

Advance Tab >> restore to defaults

apply and ok

IF that doesnt work, Download Internet Explorer and Install again
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie...p1/download.asp

If that doesnt work, Well you need to go to Windows Update and click on Scan now and download/install all available updates.

The Best browser out there is Mozilla and Mozilla Firebird, both are obtainable on the Dragon that I quote up there ^^^^^^.

I wouldn't go the Mozilla route, but best bet is just to reinstall IE6 and let it overwrite what you got. Before doing so, make sure you go to Add/Remove programs in the Control Panel and get rid of all Explorer Toolbars which are probably the cause of your problem to start with. Also run Adaware to clean the crap out...

What operating system are u using ?

Windows 2000 Pro for example suffers from the inability to show images in IE when the temp internet folder is full.

to check in WIn2kPro.

open My Computer, then the C Drive

whilst at this window, check to see that u can veiw hidden files,

go to the TOOLS tab and then FOLDER OPTIONS

click on the VEIW tab of the window that now opens.
in the tree there is a check box for show Hidden files and folders.
Make sure this is checked !
Click Apply and then OK

K back to the C Drive and open it
next open Documents and Settings
then open the Administrator folder
now u should see another folder called Local Settings
this will be fainter than the other folders because it's 'hidden'
open that folder
now in there is Temporary Internet files
u will prolly find it full of images, delete all the crap in there
close and reboot your machine
Now u should be able to veiw and download images on the web again
