Dancing Dude DI.fm

DI.fm is pretty cool. Is it about the best station? At this point I listen to the vocal trance stuff mostly.
I use Sonique and for some reason the 128kb stream won't play - only the 56k. If I click on 128kb (.pls format) it opens 2 streams in my playlist.

Anyways, not to dump my Sonique2 problems (its the alpha 2 version still so...) lemme know if there's other cool stations that are better -- especially 128kb or better.

Thanks

DI has the best show on the net (IMHO ), Oslo Nights! Aside from that though I don't listen to it that much. As far as I know DI no longer offers 128k streams for free, you have to subscribe for them.

For other stations, I usually just go to shoutcast's Electronic section, but Wong has covered some of the better stations .

www.ets-global.org is great!! it's run by a local guy here in atlanta, has 160k streams and EXCELLENT choice in music. Tons of live new sets all the time, not to mention you can listen to A State of Trance every thursday afternoon @ 2 with armin van buuren. also has many other great weekly shows, i highly reccomend it!

Indeed, and E-vangelist is a great owner and handler and a really funny guy, at that.

But let's not forget TigerClaw, the Sensation from Florida with a wicked accent. He's in charge of GlobalDJBroadcast every week. Shout-out's a plenty.

It's rather interesting. It's got some darker stuff that I enjoy to listen to when I'm moody.

Yes Proton Radio is another fave though they also play Prog House, and Breaks. Also Frisky Radio Lots of Prog Trance/House

Yes I listen to di.fm everyday. some good 'producers' get on there sometimes but I also listen to tranceairwaves although it can also give some problems with low sound stream

Posted by thirdlevelbeat on Dec-10-2003 15:53:

Jesting?

no i was not. i used to only listen to di.fm and electronic stream off mp3.com. this post doubled my selection!

Posted by E-vangelist on Dec-10-2003 20:52:

all you guys that said ETS Global rule

my programming owns DI it's not even a contest... bigger dosen't necessarily mean better. For those of you who don't know ETS Global is all livesets and live DJs, all the time. no singles. and my playlist is over 9 WEEKS long before a single repeat. and that dosen't even include my special live/scheduled events which happen tuesday-sunday (hopefully monday soon)

hope somebody mentioned www.tranceairwaves.com and www.basicbeats.net too

You're still alive? Jeez... Haven't seen you post in a while.

Been lurking around the forums?

Sneaker Pimp thanx 4 that.

Good response...thanks again.

ETS was obviously over-looked on my part. E-vangelist says his stuff is all sets (no singles)... is there a link online that tells what's "currently playing". Or a setlist... one thing I love about DI.fm is that you can see whats always being played in a glance.
You're quite right about the repeats though! In the span of 2 days (and I only listen in from 6-8pm) they played Iio - Rapture (Riva Remix) three times!! (not that thats a bad song...but, cmon)

I started of by listening to di.fm years ago. I still listen to their live shows. Oslo nights are amongst my favorite mixes. Ets-global pumps out wickedl ive mixes and proton is awesome too.

Posted by Digital Aura on Dec-10-2003 23:38:

hey..same thing!

Check this ...

On ETS-GLOBAL when I select a 160 bit stream (MAIN USA) it opens as two streams in my SONIQUE2 playlist:

ny.ets-global
cali.ets-global

When I select 128kb stream in DI.fm it does this:

64.236.34
64.236.34

Only it won't play. Can someone confirm that 128kb stream is no longer available on DI.fm??? I had it working a few days ago.

Posted by nickpdx on Dec-11-2003 00:04:

It shouldnt work unless your a "premium subscriber", now its only 96kbps, although jazz, and salsa (may be others) i think are still on 128 even though the button is 96.

Posted by Digital Aura on Dec-11-2003 01:13:

right-o

okay..thanks man.

Thought my Sonique2 was broke.
Damn this alpha...

RELEASE THE BETA ALREADY!!!!

(from their webpage)
SONIQUE NEWS

Sonique 2 is Real ... And it will rock Sonique2 is approaching Beta release (December 03) and we are very excited. There are already some amazing interfaces from our developer community, and the default interface is coming along very well. Cheers to all our users and fans who have remained so loyal.

DI is pretty damn good, but the vocal trance is a little too cheesy for my taste... Try downloading itunes and checking out the radio stations on there.

how about right next to the listen links on my web page. beside the fake "equalizer" thing

and don't use Sonique... use Winamp! download Winamp classic here (it's free and way better)
