Aye, Glazby = hard as nails

also I'd add Nick Rafferty, long been a fan of his

Posted by torontotrance on Dec-12-2003 00:12:

actually it was intelligent and I am right, you know that hard house is watered down these days. It's a shame because it was a good genre. Most hard house deejays are playing watered down crap known as hard dance. Not much decent hard house exists, that's why I'm sticking with the older stuff till they produce decent stuff.

Posted by Dom on Dec-12-2003 00:14:

1. Total Gimp - I love Ketamine
2. Drug Monkey - Got any more pills?
3. Easy to produce shit - Off beat bass is amazing
4. Random Ravegimp - Im really fucked
5. Future Smackhead - Im so under i can't see the lazers

Posted by slinkyhead on Dec-12-2003 00:17:

echoing a poiint but there isnt any good hard house atm. I can't name one decent hard house or even hard trance song in the past 6 months. Alot of HH djs are playing more techy stuff now.

and TDV is a god. How much better would the scene be if he was still around RIP

Posted by Ozzie on Dec-12-2003 02:50:

Not much decent hard house exists? Nothing good in last 6 months? Me thinks your not really hard house fans.

Not heard of Vicious Circle? Andy Farley? Paul Janes? Paul Glazby? RR Fierce? Ian M? Casper?

If they dont ring a bell and you say you've not heard any good hard house lately then go listen to some of the above artists/labels recent stuff. You'll notice its not "watered down" and that theres actually been ALOT of good releases in the last 6 months. mostly from VC.

Posted by one.tjc on Dec-12-2003 03:20:

watered down??

well you definately need to stop checking tidy out tidy trax and have at look at http://www.vicious-circle.net/ and www.qualitytrax.net/

... or just find a rock big enuff to hide under.. - seems you have already

although i agree that the hardhouse dj's are gaining a techier edge, but thats progress for you

anywho, as for tunes, nick sentience is the one to watch, his new record label quality trax is nearly ready to start pumping out some good new stuff - heard that he's doing a mix of 'he never lost his harcore' - definately looking forward to that one oh and 'afrotekno' and 'imaginate' are set to be absolutley massive

also his new album Universal Language is gonna be released early 2004 - set to be brill with a totally different and unexpected showcase.

i'd also be keeping an eye out for glazby as his hard edge is gonna get a grinding with some upcoming tunes

anyways, thats all i can think of at the moment..

so before calling the scene watered down, look beyond the usual suspects [ie guyver is not the bomb - hes crap (i mean, he remixs ian van dahl for fucks sakes!)]

preach it!
glazby's label fucking owns.. the 'techy' hardhouse sound fucking owns.. cant wait to get my hands on nick sentience's new stuff..
check out the latest vicious circle compilation - 'Vicious'

Ozzie, you may live and breathe the UK hard dance scene but the fact is a lot of people think its just endless rehashes. I don't know about the hard house scene because I much prefer techno but recent releases from Tidy such as Resonate 3 and Extreme Euphoria have been a bit predictable. Some people like a bit of originality.

You're right,

However i've always thought of the Resonate series as shit anyway and most Tidy stuff now is too trancey and ends up sounding all the same, i dont remember the last time they released a real hard house track, its all hard trance from them now. The only decent Euphoria is Disc 2 of the new one, mixed by BK, quality hard house and techno on one CD!

You only heard of Extreme Euphorias cos their more commercial, go listen to the Vicious album (called Vicious, believe it or not) then you'll see hard house isnt as predictable as you think AND if you do like techno you'll most likely love the Vicious album, as theres quite a bit of it on there.

Posted by torontotrance on Dec-12-2003 18:34:

I like hard house but never considered myself a hard house addict. I'm just stick of the way that most deejays have gone. I'm not about harder and faster, I just want quality stuff. I've stayed away from the tidy label cept for the tidy boys cd's. I'm a big fan of BK and will check out his stuff soon.

If u buy it from vicious-circle.net u get the vinyl of Sentience's remix of Hostile included. or u can just buy it from wherever n u enter a code from the CD case on the VC site n they send it u.

.... yessss guyver is mint... then again- so is ian van dahl

admittedly he has potential - but its shamefully wasted at tidy

would love to hear who thinks guyver is better than glazby or Bk, wouldnt you?

we are all entitled to our opinion -

but yeah, i agree with ozzie that tidys comp's are going downhill

but in the coming months, big things are going to be happening record label wise [hint hint].. you'll see.

Would recommend buying the albums, far more worth it than livesets as their usually old by the time they get on the net (n are rare as rocking horse shit).

Hard NRG.com still has some though, was another site with em too but forgot the link for it, their not that brill though on there to be honest.
