just got an email from my friend in Perth who had just gotten home from seeing Solarstone. He said they opened with Seven Cities pitched right up, then mixed into Solarcoaster, awesome stuff.

actually they opened with their new remix of whirlpool - under the sun (the first time they had ever played this anywhere!!) and closed their set with the liquid summer remix of 7 cities

they also played release, signet sympathy and naked angel

hopefully they get their tunes back in time to play at enchanted!

Posted by Antistatic on Dec-13-2003 04:22:

I remember there was one guy with a whistle that I wanted to deck

Posted by Huebor on Dec-13-2003 06:45:

Note for the adelaide peeps.

Just to give you a bit of a message from the guys .. you may have heard/read on the thread from Perth (and a little bit in here) that they had a problem with their tunes.

Basically they are on their way to Melbourne from Paris (duhh.. george?)

As such they won't have all the white label tracks they wanted to play, but will have some classic solarstone and other decent trance to play as long as some newer stuff

Hope you guys enjoy it as much as we did

yeah they did play a 'sunrise' set over here at enchanted...

sortof...

they actually didnt start playing their choonz till 6:10AM (kept close eye on this)... however this was due to some dude playin some other hardcore stuff overtime... i don't know why he started playing late but what this meant was that by his set, the sun had already risen (effectively about 5:55AM)... pissed, was expecting to hear solarcoaster or 3rd earth as the sun rose... i think that in a perfect world, system 6 dudes permitting (i.e. not f'n likely considering enchanted) solar stone should've been on from 4 till 6, that way, you get the nighttime atmosphere with the lights etc. (coz everyone sorta pazzez out when its light and dissipates) and then you end a nice trance set with solarcoaster as the sun rises... ready for the next dj to take over at 6 playin hardcore etc. to keep the punters on the floor... then to make matters worse, to piss me off more, he stopped playin at 7:34AM (so a 2hr set ended up bein 1 and a bit) not happy jan...

despite my little dummy spit, i must give all respect when respect is due, and in this case, it was... his mixing was pretty flawless (to my strained ears) lol! it sounded like the speakers were well and truly farouked when the dj before had them absolutely peaked to the maxx and it sounded like the drivers were going to tear out and fly across the dance floor, but that got fixed... the tracklisting was fairly similar to the perth set, and given the circumstances (records) i think they did a great job with what they had and forgive them for the somewhat shortened set, but then again, these things happen...

overall a nice sun ris(ing) set, and a good way to end a good night and it was heaps of fun... pity it wasn't on earlier though and the whole record thing. That would have made my night.

lol! weird though, getting a good look at all the majorly spaced out ravers on the floor when the sun rose... some of them looked like they hadn't seen the light of day in years, kinda scary...

Posted by Phorte on Dec-15-2003 06:52:

i believe the act before Solarstone was Dave Randall (UK) who started at 4.30am..

trying to get my hands on the recording of the set...

errr i doubt it gonzo. you need look no further than melbourne on a regular friday nite to see where the real candy raver contingent lies.

the only difference is that the melbourne krew aren't all related to each other. :soharsh:
